because they're perfectly happy that a naval vessel from a country with which relations have been decidedly frosty since last September has invaded its waters. Can't wait to see what our Minister for Media Information, Rupert Murdoch, has to say on this.

so, this was an "accident" (a few of them, evidently, all inadvertent) but Minister for Border Prophylactics assures that they won't happen again....

Just how does a naval vessel equipped with all manners of navigational tools "inadvertently" enter territorial waters of another nation (that too in the present day circumstances where relations aren't exactly warm?)...

I (together with the Moderators) have decided to permanently close this thread. It wasn't a decision we took lightly as, in general, anything can be discussed on AFF's Playground forum provided posts adhere to our standard posting Guidelines.

However, discussion in this thread has become very "heated" and was taking a large amount of moderation time to keep things civil. Simply put, we came to the conclusion that the "cost" (in terms of moderation effort) wasn't worth the "value". We are essentially a travel forum and political discussion is not our "core business". I'd rather have our effort directed to topics relevant to Travel.

I'd like to thank all those who made thoughtful and considered contributions to this thread and a special thanks to our Moderators for keeping the discussion on track.
