First off-- happy new year, everyone!

I realised I was going to be very close to Gold status this year, having 480 SC with 70 SCs expiring on the 31 Dec.

I decided to do a status run on the 30 December to ensure I get Gold status before my deadline, and on the 31st the status credits were credited to my account, taking me to 540 SC. I checked my account yesterday and I was indeed at 540 SC.

The problem is that my "status review" still hasn't occurred in my activity, meaning that now that we're past my deadline, I'm down to 470 SC again, since I had 70 SC expire at midnight on the 31 Dec. And I'm still a silver member when I should be at Gold based on my activity.

Will Virgin account for this automatically, or will have to expect making some painful calls explaining the situation?

Thanks very much

Keep an eye on it as the status review usually takes a few days. If it doesn't happen just ring them and they should be able to do something. The AFF member VFF is a Velocity rep, so if needed PM a mod to forward a PM on to VFF and that usually has a happy ending! Congrats on attaining gold!

Thank you!

Since today is a public holiday, I might wait till tomorrow morning before I take any action.

I have another flight tomorrow which will earn me another 30 SC (making me gold either way), but i want those to count towards future status rather "this round".

Cheers

Unless you achieve gold today or worst case tomorrow, that's unlikely, however if your fail to requal gold by 30SCs in a years time, you can plead your case with them and reports suggest they do listen.

Update: a call to Velocity membership services and a PM from VFF here on the forum solved the situation smoothly. Great service!

My boarding pass today still said silver on IT (probably because it was booked and checked in for prior to becoming gold), but was still able to use priority checkin at BNE, and currently relaxing in the VA lounge before departing to SYD.
