Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Thanks all.

need to have conversation
Are you saying have a conversation with the staff at the airport at the point of itinerary change/downgrade or on the phone after the event rather than by email?

Yes I would be pushing for business first and foremost in the event of a change.

To re-highlight my original question though. Am I right in saying that I'll need to wait for QF to make the first move re flight changes to be eligible for ORC. Eg if I take advantage of any "free flight change" scheme that they are using for affected flyers to change to a direct option ahead of time would I then be ineligible to claim ORC as I volunteered to do that. Am I better off waiting until they inform me that they have changed my flight and then I call up to request the flights I want instead.

Thanks all.

Yes wait for qantas to contact you check your emails and qantas app . I check mine and those flights are months out lol

For now your flights are as is I guess

Maybe a box of chocolates for the checkin staff ?

If you get business you just need to do the orc if it’s less than what your expecting

Thanks all.

After the event if downgraded you would need to speak to call centre - hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Always best to wait for airline to initiate change but have your preferred flights in mind, and confirm with them that you are retaining the PNR.

Good luck @FlyingCasually

Look on the bright side - if you get dropped to Y, get ORC, then get compensation for the drop to Y - you might get some of the cheapest SC's ever had!

Hi, I am in a similar boat. MEL-BNE-AKL all in J on Saturday as part of the DSC promo. BNE is not closed yet but trying to understand my options regarding ORC.
So it happened. BNE is closed and so my flights were cancelled. Got an email and text to say they were unable to rebook me and to call them so I did.

Ended up on a MEL-AKL direct flight but in econ. What should be the order of operations for refund and ORC? From what I have gathered I should claim the ORC first, wait until that is is showing in my account, and then contact about refund for the fare difference. Presumably in an effort to avoid "no extra SCs for you because you have already been compensated for not being on the original routing". Or is this overthinking it?

Any insights into the process will be appreciated.
