Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Trying to think out of the box, what if you were to use the flight credit first for the cheapest flight you can find (accepting the loss of its value), I think this cheap flight would get the current PNR, and I think (someone to confirm) the new flight you would book with the remaining of the flight credit will get a new PNR.
Oooh that’s interesting!

Originally I was curious about a previous post from this thread:
Cancelled first day of promotional period as I needed to change the date. I cancelled for a credit and rebooked the same day hoping I would get DSC. However, I then realised that the new flight wouldn't qualify given it departed on 30th October. But it did qualify.
Where someone who had booked a flight prior to the DSC cancelled and rebooked via FC and got the DSC. Wasn’t sure if we had many other data points to confirm this is a thing though.

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

- Earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points*
- Enjoy an annual $450 Qantas travel credit
- Don't forget the two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations and two visits to the Amex Centurion Lounges in Melbourne and Sydney.

For agency issued tickets you cannot do this unless you fly that cheap flight first, before you rebook with the remaining credit for a new flight.

As for when the DSC offer will drop - no idea. I'm just booking a return trip to Singapore as *I type this, and I was a little surprised to see a sale fare being offered for the return leg - I've done a quick search on both the QF website and through google and I can't even find any mention of a current sale on QF fares for Singapore - so I have no idea when this sale ends - so can't even guess as to whether this sale might affect the potential date of a DSC offer or if it does when the DSC offer might then happen. However it is quite possible that having booked this fare in a few minutes that a DSC offer will drop tonight 😂 If it does then so be it - my departure to SIN is in about 18 days so I needed to get something booked, will take advantage of the sale fare instead.
OK well you can all thank me later for triggering the DSC off!

It’s possible that if the offer is happening today that it might not get published till after midnight UTC anyway.

If everyone has booked flights on the recent sale, then cancels and re-books for DSCs, there would be a significant cost increase. Perhaps Qantas are hoping that not many would do that. In any case its a win for Qantas! But then the benefit of a low fare may out-weight the joys of DSCs!

It did for me. I had a couple of Amex credits expiring so decided to cash them in during the sale.

Since reaching LTG I find DSC to be far less attractive (unlikely to reach WP) although I might pick up a couple of vouchers.

I spotted the October 2024 offer details had re-appeared(?) in the T&Cs at the bottom of the Activity statement page last night, and almost shared then.

Thought it might've just been leftover there since October, but now wonder if it's there waiting as a placeholder for this new offer (if there is one?) to release.

Hi all, earlier this morning we updated the Double Status Credits offer page in the backend with new dates in error, as the promotion has since been postponed. We will update the guide again when the new dates are finalised. Sorry for the inconvenience and the false start.

Could've sworn they posted it on their socials this morning
It would be somewhere else - no social post was made on our channels as we never republished the offer to the homepage or put together any socials for it yet.
