ABTC entry to Vietnam

Going to Vietnam for the 1st time at Christmas with family. I have digital ABTC with VNM on the back. I am a bit concerned with the prior post that the airline denied boarding because they don't know about the ABTC. I will be flying Malaysian Airline. Did anyone have such boarding issue other than the one post? Should I play safe and apply for e-visa to avoid risks?
