Accelerate to SQ silver/gold tier

Luckily I gained Shangri La Jade through work Amex last year so have applied for the match. And fortunately meeting family in KUL for Xmas (I'm SYD) so easily meet the required 3 flights. To top it off, Amex website had a mistake fare - I paid for Y and got ticketed PE - and it was cheaper than Y on SQ website. 2 birds...

I signed up with AMEX and then signed up with Shangri La but unfortunately I can't recall my member number so I can update the AMEX website to get me to jade?!! I think I remember getting monthly statements, or maybe I turned that feature off. I'm going to give it a month. I did try signing up again but no luck. Gah!! I have 2 SQ flights booked for next year and need to book another 1 or 2 for later which would get me to gold but the reality is I'm not sure I'm flying SQ again after that! Already have *A Gold so the promo isn't particularly useful but just in case I end up flying SQ for some reason I'll take the extra points earn. I think I read there's only 4 months in which to fly this so I'll link the accounts closer to the flights.

Will silver status help me with waitlist? I currently have no stays but have redeemed suites, first and J flights for late next year. Am on waitlist for suites on return leg. If it will help, I'm prepared to leverage my Amex golden circle membership to get to silver.

When flying on SQ, is there any real difference in service/benefits being KF Gold vs VA WP?

I could easily qualify KF Gold using the Amex Platinum Charge Jade comp and then get the three SQ flights on a PER-SIN-HKG rtn.
