Ok, here is the response.

Regarding your lounge access query, our Frequent Flyer team have confirmed that you would not have access to the Alaska Airlines lounge in LAX.

Alaska Airlines do not recognise Qantas or oneworld status, and have a codeshare agreement with us for ticketing purposes only.

Using our lounge in Terminal 4 is not an option as Alaska Airlines depart from Terminal 6, and you would need an applicable boarding pass to clear customs/immigration.

So no dice.

Props to Red Roo for following it up, quality work.

In May last year I was given access to AS Boardroom at LAX flying on AS (with AS flight number) in Y. There was even a signpost clearly stating that QFF Platinum/Gold had access to AS lounge in LAX (I even think someone here had posted a picture of the sign, but I can't find it...). So I presume things have changed?

I told SWMBO that she would have access...I hate giving misleading information:mad:

I have seen that sign too.

I have seen that sign too.

Recently? SWMBO is a very grumpy traveler, so everything I tell her about airports has to be 110% accurate:mrgreen:

Her corporate TA is so useless and even though I had sent him a mock booking with all the flights, he somehow put her on AS instead of AA metal! He said he couldn't get the AA flights. Why is it that TA always say they can't see the flights you want even if the whole world can book these flights on any OTA:evil: Rant over...

Note there are reports on FT that since May 1st access airside to any terminal at LAX is now simply conditional on have a same day BP departing from LAX.

Certainly my experience today. We flew SYD - LAX QF 11 followed by LAX - SEA on AS metal but booked as QF flight number.

We arrived at TBIT, the usual arrival customs etc (which seemed much quicker than when here in Feb this year with the quarantine line way shorter) and recheck bags. Walked to T4, granted access to Flagship Lounge (due my QF WP) even after asking what the best way to T6 is for our AS flight as I wanted to avoid leaving terminal and going through security again. Was told to catch AS bus from near Gate 44 in T4 which would go to T6.

All worked as advertised

This is a handy thread.

Am going LAX-SEA-YYC on AS in a weeks time, so I will carefully observe access signs and ask at the desks about various types of access for QP. / QFF status holders.

I started flying AS earlier this year, sort of to assuage guilt at being a Milage Plan member, with lots of miles, but all purchased:). Spent an hour at SEA on an AS Y ticket, but never occurred to me to ask about Lounge access being WP.

BTW, Air Canada has 'Rouged' ( like Jetstar, but worse) their LAX-YYC flights, so ... Lose my business, guys.

Thanks for letting us know what the situation is in regard to WP accessing the LAX Boardroom when flying on AS.

Totally agree with you that Rouge is a disaster! I had to call SWMBO's TA to tell him that Rouge is not AC and that I wanted him to re-book her on a real carrier...he had no idea what I was talking about!

If you have Priority Pass membership the following lounges are available at LAX:

Terminal 2: Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge

Terminal 3: Virgin America Loft Lounge

TBIT: Korean Airlines Lounge

Terminal 6: Alaskan Airlines Boardroom & United Club

Terminal 7: United Club

Any update on the Boardroom access at LAX for SG and WP flying on AS?

I know that there is no access to the Boardroom in SEA, the dragon at the desk told me last year that the QF agreement was only with LAX Boardroom.

I went through yesterday. Unfortunately a late arrival didn't allow me to go to the Boardroom in LAX, but I did ask at the SEA one.

Quite helpful person there telephoned the LAX Boardroom to check. Answer was yes, the QF/AS access agreement is only for LAX: Qantas Club members - yes, also pax on QF codeshares on fares F, A, C, D, F, I and J (please don't hold me to these - that's what she wrote down). I asked about Qantas status pax, such as Platinum and she said no access. Before I could point out that Plats at least have QP membership included, the phone rang and she got tied up.

At SEA, my onward ticket was in QF codeshare in Economy, so she was initially going to bounce me because WP cut no ice. Thankfully, I could show that I was on a business class ticket, with no biz seating on the Dash 8 I was on, so it was fine.

I'm going back through in a couple of weeks so can ask again, as the above would only be one person's input.

BTW the Boardroom at SEA was a bit disappointing for a 'home base' one. On two levels, with upstairs designated a 'family zone' and lower on 'more for business'. The food offerings seemed to only consist of soups and salads and drinks were ask-across-the-counter as far as I could see. No showers :( Both areas were crowded when I was there, just before lunch time. I was pretty zonked, and wanted lunch, so I went out and had it in the retail concourse, which is nice.

Thanks Rooflyer! The agreement is still in place then. SWMBO just confirmed that she was granted access at the T6 Boardroom earlier today as a QFF SG flying on AS in Y.
I only have been to the Boardroom at breakfast time and the free food options are way better than what is offered at AA Admiral Club at T4.
Also no shower at T6 Boardroom which is a bit disappointing.

I can confirm this, I have been granted access into the Boardroom at LAX's T6 on Tuesday night. Booked a AA-codeshare (for SCs) flight on AS in Y, using my QF SG status to get in together with my +1. Nothing special inside but way better than in the terminal, we thought.
