Funny you should say that

I now have received the Sofitel email. I send them a query asking if this can be fixed up (i.e. status upgraded to Gold) as I can see my Sofitel points weren't transferred either.

My points from last week's stay at Novotel still haven't been credited either, to the new card. The A|Club website states that this can take up to 10 days so I'll sit on that one for now...

Apparently the transfer of Sofitel points across to A-Club is a manual process (as is upgrading you to the status advised in the email). I'm giving the status a week or so to get upgraded then fire of an email (although I don't really think I deserve gold, but if they are going to offer it....)

I have still not received any card, status on my account online is still not "Gold" yet.

WOndering whether anyone's got their Sofitel Privilege programme transferred successfully, and whether your status has been changed as per their offer.

I've got some stays at accor hotels soon, the Gold status with free upgrade will come in handy.

Maybe you need to post a Stay:
Welcome to A|Club, Mr <serfty> !

We are pleased to welcome you as an A|Club member. You will receive confirmation of your A|Club membership and number by e-mail within minutes.
Please print and keep this e-mail with your membership number, as you will need to present it upon check-in for your next stay.
We will send your A|Club card to you after your first stay at any of the 2,000 Accor hotels worldwide.

My account got modified to Gold sometime last night. WooHoo. Previous email said I will be getting a card in the mail.

Me too!

The odd thing is that my account status says I need to stay 10 nights to achieve Platinum. Which is quite handy as I have a 12 night Sofitel stay that hasn't registered on my Sofitel Advantage account!

Mine did say that. But it no longer does

Mine still does!:D

Another shiny piece of plastic to keep in my wallet....:p

Luck you. Mine says

A|Club points earned during the last 12 months: 500
Number of A|Club points necessary to reach A|Club Platinum status: 24,500
Number of nights necessary to reach A|Club Platinum status: 60

Hell. Mine says that now as well :(

It was good while it lasted

How long do we get to remain Gold for? Do we have to "re-qualify" each year to maintain it? If not, does it drop back to Silver?

I'm hoping that this is a permanent gold...but something tells me that's not the case.

No only lasts until 30/9/09.:(

I quit Adv+ this year after 7yrs...agree, prior to 2006 it was worthwhile.

Hmmm, I gave Adv+ the @rse in May this year after 10 years of membership.

It had turned into a "discount" scheme where the discounts were not much different from that available without an annual membership. Up until 2006 it was really worthwhile.

As far as Hotels stays go, basically you paid for a night with your annual renewal.

I did not find the dining facet really useful - I may have used it once in the last three years of membership.

So it would be interesting to see what A|Club may offer.

I have the Sofitel card, to expire 04/2010 but got the email about the A/Club on 24/9 that a Gold card has been reserved. This morning I have had second email reminding me to accept by 30/11. I just did online through a the weblink. Will check status online to see if Gold Status shows.

As an aside, when completing the form, it asked for country of residence and on selecting Australia, the state drop down box reveals a new option: JERVIS BAY TERRITORY! Not funny?

Ijust took it as some wierd French sense of humour!

Maybe they had some past members who lived there and wanted to make sure they crossed the T's etc etc, its correct as far as being a Territory of ours and ceased being a part of the ACT in 1989 when the ACT got self government. All ADF employees are treated under Jervis Bay Territory law as if they lived there regardless of their actual location or post!

I just can't seem to get my points through within a reasonable timeframe on this program....
I stayed at Mercure Sydney several times last year
( including post Sept. 08 ), but never got any points allocated to my A-Club account.
I had a Sofitel Privilege card, and transferred my points to A-Club. I then received an A-Club Platinum card in the mail.
When contacting the Sydney A-Club office, they told me, that because I had a " Sofitel A-Club card", I can't get points from Mercure stays ( including Novotel etc. )

Has anyone else had trouble getting points out of them???

( BTW, the " free upgrades " are cough as well. May work at Sofitel, but I stayed at Canberra Novotel for work related in January, and presented the A-Club Platinum card... no upgrade, points took six weeks.... only after several phone calls to hotel )

regards,
GORDO

Three stays so far; Ibis @ Bencoolen posted within days, had to chase up first at AKL Mercure (Windsor), next week nearly 10 working days since my last stay at the same place which has not yet posted.

To make my claim, I used their online facility: A|Club request online forms with an uploaded image of the statement. It took about 1½ weeks for the stay to credit.

FWIW, I did not get an A|Club card until my after my first stay had posted.

I was not aware that a Sofitel A-Club card could not earn outside Sofitel. I will have to take a look through the marketing material they sent at the time, but I seem to remember that being able to gain points elsewhere was one of the statements they made at the time.

That's what I told 'Frenchy' on the phone.
Didn't quite register.
Was talking to Duty Manager of a Novotel I stayed at in last two months. No points through after eight weeks. She said, hotel posts the points, but A-Club decide if they will credit account holder or not. Thus, need to state your case to A-Club, in order to ' apply ' for the points you think you're automatically entitled to !!!

regards,
GORDO
