Any recent experiences with Accor Best Price Guarantee? I have found an old thread here as well as on another forum with very little positive experiences. Price Guarantee is Rubbish! Another ANGRY customer.

I've noticed a price on Cheaptickets is cheaper, and then even cheaper again with their standard discount codes. I have logged a claim with Accor before and never heard back at all. I did speak to them last night and they said they would get back to me for this one within 24-48 hours but nothing yet.

I've minimised my risks to try this out and booked both as flex to hedge my bets and will keep which ever is cheapest in the end.

I've only run this gauntlet twice despite many Accor stays. While both have (eventually) been accepted, the awkward process is hardly worth the effort.

My first claim was acknowledged almost immediately (I had 10 screenshots) but the second required repeated escalating interactions with hotel management who eventually agreed but clearly weren't happy about it.

Seemed a bit like amateur hour when I used it (eventually successfully) about 6 weeks ago

Ibis Styles in Kalgoorlie was slightly cheaper on Qantas than direct. Put in the claim and receive the acknowledgement email, but that didn't contain a reference number. After about 10 days I got in touch with Accor AU and international via Twitter. I got differing stories on how its all handled. Eventually I got a call directly from the hotel to offer a refund of the difference. I had to point out the the bloke that I should be also getting 10% off as well. He wasn't familiar with this and had to call me back, which he did and I received the refund I expected.

However, when they eventually looked at this, the rate on Qantas was dearer, but I kept screenshots.

Well I got an email back from the normal process asking why I hadn't filled in the form after 2 days. I responded saying I did 5 minutes after I called them and sent a screen shot of the submission - which have no reference number. This went no where.

In parallel I had emailed the hotel directly. Their response has been fantastic (an Ibis) with multiple emails and phone calls apologising that the price was cheaper on a 3rd party website. They matched the advertised cheaptickets.com price minus 10% right away. The cheaptickets price with 16% coupon is still slightly cheaper - they are checking if they can beat this. Ultimately I will accept the current offer though to earn the nights and points.

So, looks like you are best contacting the hotel directly rather than following Accor's process.
