HI,

We are a family of 4, so getting the Accor Family offer of the second room @ 50% off sounds great, one catch every time I find it on offer, it seems to be like only a 10% discount on the second room - I understand it has to be the full price which is the 50% off, but I still find most of the time it is cheaper to buy 2 rooms by itself than the family offer - is there somthing I am missing ? or have people used it in the past and got the discount they advertise ?

Thanks

Yeah, i’m not sure you’re missing anything! We noticed this with the 30% and 40% off ‘sales’… it was off the full unrestricted and fully flexible price… not the lowest non-refundable. So the actual savings can be quite minimal.

Hopefully someone with more knowledge on the 2nd room discount can chime in :)

It's 50% off retail and also doesn't include fees and taxes, so as you say, it's not a true 50% off the 2nd room, but I've found it's still cheaper than two separate rooms in most cases - do your own comparison, and pick the cheaper option.

I’m currently using the 50% off second room deal for a stay at movenpick wellington.

From my calculations it worked out a bit cheaper than getting 2 separate rooms, maybe not 25% but perhaps between 15/20%. the bonus for me though was as platinum both rooms received breakfast and both were upgraded.

Sorry to hijack this thread but seemed related. I have a booking for later this year at a Novotel in what would essentially be a suite for a gathering of sorts. There are two similar suites at this property and if numbers swell, I might need the second one too. So long as kids were indicated as staying, would I be able to get the second suite at half the regular fully flexible rate, minus taxes? I had a brief look at the terms of the offer and couldn't see exclusions, but perhaps I missed it, or it's buried?

As I've currently also, only got a booking for one room, I presume I would need to call Accor (or the hotel?) to add the second room at the appropriate time under the offer? Loathe to cancel and rebook completely.

The discount for the second room should show up if you put in the correct number for adults and kids when booking online. I find I have to experiment - I always start with just 2 adults and no benefits to see the full options then start adding kids and choosing 1 or 2 rooms to see all potential rooms.
