I haven't been able to find any information on the Accor Plus website about this. Does anyone know if you receive all your Platinum benefits when staying on the Accor Plus complimentary night? Specifically interested in lounge access when staying at Sofitel Melbourne. Complimentary night is only available on a classic room, a Club room attracts an additional charge.

I stayed at Sofitel Melbourne in October last year and was given lounge access on a free night in a basic room. Surprisingly I was not given welcome drinks voucher as the hotel claim that is included in the evening canape session.

Thanks Haplo, good to know.
I also haven't received the welcome drinks voucher on the past 3 stays for the same reason. On previous stays when I did receive the drinks voucher I never used them anyway, because of the drinks in the lounge.

Thanks zig for posting this here as I was going to ask this very specific question in the Accor Elites thread.

If you book the 'Complimentary night' - or 2 nights in my situation - is it a common practice to upgrade to significantly higher room? I am willing to pay but interested to know what the general experiences on how common this is and how willing hotels are to accommodate such requests?

I think it is more 'relevan't that your a Platinum member to get the significant upgrade. Of course it is different at every hotel ..day of the week ..whim of whomever but the Comp night doesn't get you necessarily an upgrade to anything more significant; Platinum is a better vehicle for that.
