Accor Plus Membership Discussion

My Accor Plus renewal date is 31 Aug 2023 (with membership provided via Amex Plat card). It seems the renewal for 2024 has already occurred - at some point in the last few days (possibly even earlier) - as the new Stay Plus night has been credited and the membership expiry date has updated to 31 Aug 2024. Is this their usual practice? (though I have no complaints if things happen ahead of schedule!)

Same renewal date as you and same update to my account.

Question - if I don’t mind about the free night (or at least in year one), is there any known disadvantage for opting into the Accor+ Traveller membership, vv the standard paid version?

Had this show up in the ALL app today, and seems like good value at 4,000 points / 80 euros?

Cheers,
Matt.
I got that offer too in my ALL App and got email reminders every week and when i went to join Accor Plus i got a automated response i was not eligible to use my Points so i didn't go through with it. I have no idea what's going on there

Give them a call. I made numerous bookings and was unable to use points to defray the cost and eventually got annoyed and rang them. It was some sort of security block.

Thanks so much @PineappleSkip , and as I was on hold to them I tried on my desktop rather than phone and it worked was able to accept the Accor Plus Traveller offer for 4k points

What do you think the odds are of them crediting the 20 nights upon renewal (within 10 days of last week), or the computer waiting til 31 Aug to start the 10 day clock? I'm not in any particular hurry, just wondering.
Just managed to hit my 30th night last fri, and the stay was credited yesterday with Gold kicking in.

Any guest from me would just be wild speculation. Given they haven't hit yet, I guess they're not likely too. I don't see crediting before or after 31st August making any difference to life though. In your situation it would at best take you to 50 nights, so it's not like it's ticking you over to platinum.

Yep. I won't be completing the additional 10 nights until mid Nov.

I had the same issue after deciding to go ahead with the offer… ended up calling up and they did it over the phone in no time

Cheers,
Matt.

It seems very unfair that people who have their Accor Plus renewal date before the end of this year will get 40 status nights credited to their accounts but those with a renewal date early next year will only get 20 nights. Since ALL status is based on how many status nights or credits are accrued per calendar year, many (like me) will miss out on a chance to upgrade their status.

I renewed earlier this month. (expiry date was 31 August)
I have only just received 20 bonus nights, yesterday. Not sure if this is for the renewal or the other Accor bonus points.

Hoping I will get the other 20.

Has anyone used the Accor plus dining discount for breakfast at any hotels in Australia?

It seems like if I book a room without breakfast and use the 50% discount (two people) for breakfast at the restaurant, it will be cheaper than booking a room with breakfast for two.

But I am not sure if the dining discount can be used for breakfast as well or is it for lunch or dinner only?

Yes @AGSA4727 , I have used the dining discount many times for breakfast.
Its great value.

Plenty of times. Yes, you can do this. I'm not sure if it will end up being cheaper than a room with breakfast included - it would definitely depend on how many adults, and in cases like red hot rooms it's rare to have breakfast included, so if you can compare like for like and if you know the breakfast rate you could work out the delta and if it's cheaper.
