Accor Plus Membership Discussion

I actually got a call from Accor today to advise me of the bonus nights (30) and reduced price if I renew my Accor Plus. After I got over the shock I advised that just last night I checked with Amex how I go about securing the Accor Plus benefit for my platinum card (as I purchased Accor Plus prior to getting the Amex). They advised "it should happen automatically" after expiry. I dutifully screenshotted the chat of course.
Back to the Accor rep, I thanked her for the call and advised of my chat with Amex. She is going to call me back when my Accor Plus expires. Be interested to see what happens.

Has anyone got a screenshot of what can be had for $500 Discovery Dollars? Only tours or cruises, for what I understand. What sort of tours cost $500? Are there short cruises 2 – 3 days in length too?

What I really mean is, if the annual cost of membership is currently about $450, then the membership cost is essentially free, right?

Moreover, are there limitations to what you can spend the $500 Discovery Dollars on (i.e. minimum spend)?

Can anyone who has taken up the Discovery membership confirm if it includes an additional complimentary hotel night ie. on top of the Stay Plus benefit included in Explorer membership?
The benefits page on the Accor Plus site lists a complimentary hotel night as an additional benefit but my chat with an agent was vague to say the least.
It’s being offered at an additional $69 so might be a great deal but seems too good to be true.

Mine ran out on the 15th Feb but still showing plus in the app - does it take a while to go away

Accor Plus memberships normally run to the end of the month.
Does that mean if they have deducted membership for the coming year earlier in the month as an auto-renewal (ie yesterday) that you can contact them to cancel the renewal? My elderly father thought that he had cancelled it and to be fair, when I looked at his account a few weeks ago even I couldn't see it showing as auto-renew so I also thought he must have cancelled it - it's not a very clear account set up. He claims he didn't receive a notification of renewal (but also admitted that he may have deleted it as advertising.)

Offer expires: 18 Mar 2025

- Earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points*
- Enjoy an annual $450 Qantas travel credit
- Don't forget the two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations and two visits to the Amex Centurion Lounges in Melbourne and Sydney.

Not your father's fault imo. I'm trying to check my auto renewal settings, this is a screenshot from their help page, but when I click on "profile" an almost identical page is displayed but without a "manage your payment plan".
All I can do is ensure no credit card is linked.Screenshot_20250221-144438.png

I've got the same - no 'Manage your payment plan' option in mine, either.
I did sign up using ALL points, so may have something to do with that...?

Cheers,
Matt.

i received an email warning me of renewal and providing a link to cancel. Received this on 2 accounts but i think it went to junk. I'm pretty sure i saw it when reviewing the Junk folder.

Just received the call from Accor asking me to renew and offering the additional 10 nights plus discount of $30 to $369. Having made platinum last year I won’t be renewing until November as I hope this means I retain platinum until November 2026 (?). I like Accor+but TBH Accor platinum is delivering as much value in lounge access, breakfast and general good treatment.

I think they are being very sneaky about it all, which is not nice.

There is no Manage your payment plan visible on his page. Also it says his membership has expired. I'm really baffled by what is going on. He said there is a pending transaction on his credit card (Amex). Would initiating a chargeback be an option?

There also is no email reminder from them in his email account - I've just checked. This is all so dodgy.

I've just discovered I can chat online with Accor+ online during business hours so I will do that on Monday to challenge the renewal (but at the very least to turn off auto-renew because I'll be darned if I can see billing anywhere on his account. There's nothing regarding where to unsubscribe or remove his card details etc).
