I'm going to use a free night in Auckland in July overnighting on a status run. Assuming I have my choice of Accor properties, where do you recommend?

I'm currently booked at the Sofitel but I'm thinking being closer to the action for a one night stay is preferable. I've never been to Auckland before.

Only stayed at the Pullman Auckland previously, close to Queen St, bit of a walk up a hill.
Sofitel is in a good spot, would stay put.

I’d probably stick with Sofitel, but I’d also consider SO/ Auckland as it has a Club Signature lounge as well
+1 one for this. Sofitel is one of my favourite AKL hotels (only possibly beaten now by the new Park Hyatt), but SO is a cracker too and more central. That being said, lots to do around the Sofitel - Wynyard Quarter restaurants, walking around Westhaven Marina, and it's only a few mins walk to the Viaduct bars/restaurants. Recommend a visit to the QT rooftop bar too which is really close.
