Only addition in Australia is the Swissotel Sydney - great to see Fairmont with 42 hotels in the USA & Canada, North America has always been a weak point for AccorHotels so this gives them a nice foothold over there!

There's no indication of when this will become effective, it will probably take some time due to regulatory approvals etc.

One things for sure, can't wait to use some Accor points for a stay at Raffles Singapore

Interesting news. Can't see then combining brands/loyalty programs (that would destroy Fairmont). Certainly hope they won't combine IT!

I was only looking at the Fairmont in Sanur Bali the other day as an alternative to my beloved Hyatt Sanur whose renovations are taking for ever. This should be a very welcome addition. I wonder where these brands will sit in the benefit scheme of things.

hmmm OMAAT thinks Fairmont Presidents Club will be folded into Le Club. Having just sweated to the middle tier of Prez Club, not entirely impressed

Me too. I expect distinct programs with privileges and benefits to each other. Somewhat like OW.

(Wondering if there are OW type alliance but for hotel chains?)

I just tried to book the Fairmont in Bannf and it appears they do not accept Le Club loyalty cards. I'm guessing the new brands will retain their current loyalty programs. It makes sense rather than try to transition members to Le Club and potentially diminish their existing benefits.

Has anyone had experience with Accor loyalty status being matched at Swissotel or other brands? Ive logged into my Swissotel account set up in 2013 and that has never been used. I have two awards due to "*ADVANTAGE AWARD - LE CLUB ACCORHOTELS ELITE MEMBER", issued on 26 Oct 2016. I don't recall do any sort of matching or promo. Not exactly sure what to do with these 2 awards and if it is enough incentive to book a stay at Swissotel Sydney to find out.

They ran a promotion for Swissotel and Fairmont around that time offering those upgrade certs. It is still going (on to Dec 31) for new sign ups. Maybe they matched up your accouns in the background.
