Has there been any news on Accor extending the expiry of points due to Coronavirus?
Are other hotel loyalty programmes doing anything similar?

Lets hope they extend it or their will be a lot of unhappy customers who may not renew next time.

Absolutely. Hope they’ll do the right thing.

I got the “free” night from AMEX and value it at $300 as part of the annual fee package. If Accor will not extend then AMEX will need to find a way to compensate otherwise myself and I’m sure others will reconsider the value of keeping this card.

I'd give then a ring. At renewal time 2 years back I did just that & they happily extended for 12 months & I was only renewing to silver at that time.

Yes I’ll do that eventually if no choice. They already extended for me twice before. Once it was just the free night, second time it was the free night AND platinum membership. Both times were as part of my paid AccorPlus membership, don’t think they’ll be so generous this time but we’ll see...

Just received a six months Accor Plus Extension email. Just in time, renewal was due next month.

What we are facing together is daunting and I would like to thank you for being a loyal member of Accor Plus and for your continued trust, support and patience. As a fellow avid traveller and lifestyle enthusiast, l understand that the impact of COVID-19 has affected your opportunity to use and enjoy the benefits of your Accor Plus membership. To alleviate this, your 12 month Accor Plus membership will be automatically extended by an additional 6 months.

Oh that is good news for you. I renewed mine at the end of February and obviously no chance of using any of the benefits at the moment. So hopefully they may extend mine.

Just got an email to say my membership will be extended by 6 months also. So hopefully I might get to use my free night!

Any news about AccorPlus free night extension?
Mine going to expire end of this month.
I was in the same situation, my membership was expiring at the end of April 2020. After continuously raising the issue with AccorPlus for last 3-4 weeks to extend the free night, they finally caved in and have extended the free night till October 2020.

Got the email also about 6 month extension. Not sure I will have much travel for 2020 at all though.

With the six month extension will that also allow you the extra six months in which to maintain status?

I am Platinum and my review date is 31 December 2020. With the deposit of 7000 status credits and 30 nights I now stand at around 8000 status credits and 35 nights.

With the restrictions i would struggle to get there by 31 December to maintain platinum but if the extension also applies to maintaining status should be able to get there.

Accor Plus is not the part that grants Platinum status.

You still have to do it during the calendar year. It is possible ALL may make further adjustments, but for now 31 December is the date.

Thanks for the clarification. Will give it a go once the restrictions are lifted.

Assuming that the restrictions are lifted by end of June then one way of looking at it 1000 staus credits a month i need to earn!

Is your membership through AMEX or directly with Accor?

I spoke to them (again) today asking why I didn’t get the six months extension confirmation email and was told it’s currently offered only to their direct members.

Regarding the AMEX partnership the answer was:
“AccorPlus and AMEX are currently working together and are looking into it regards to the programme benefits.”

I’ve asked and got this in writing as well so now I have to chase AMEX for assurances as my membership and free night are set to expire in two days.

I received an email from Accor which is pretty much similar to everyone here in regards to the bonus credits and nights they'll be crediting to their Accor Plus members.

I've had a look at my account and I still haven't been provided the credits that they outlined in the email.

Would this be because of my membership with Amex instead of it being directly with Accor? If so then Accor shouldn't have sent out the email to Accor Plus members who attained it through Amex.

I received an email from Accor last night extending my Ibis Business membership for an extra 6 months, which is pretty great as it provides complimentary gold status as a major perk (that 90 euro pays itself off in the free upgrades alone in my eyes)

Additionally, from my latest ALL promotional email, there's free F45 online membership for a month with the code ACCOR45

Noone else has reported this yet, including Accor. I’d be inclined to wait and see what ALL has to say.

Would be nice if true.

cheers skip

Hey Guys - good news. All Accor Live Limitless Status Tiers Have finally been extended until December 31, 2021.

I have been following this topic on the flyertalk websiteand it seem that so far ALL Platinums have got the extension to 31 December 2021 but Accor Plus members (I am one) yet to get it but should by 31 May.

I have checked my account and my expiry is still 31 December 2020. Fingers crossed my account will update soon with an expiry 31 December 2021.
