Hello

Was wondering if many other people have had this delay?

My account review date was 14 Feb 14, and ever since then there is a message saying 'we are currently reviewing your activity over the last year and your new card will be with you shortly' and so on.

I have 900 credits in the last year and only need 800 to maintain Platinum I believe.

I remember it seemed to take them a while last year too.

In contrast, on the opposition, when I made enought to qualify for gold, my account reflected the changes within a few hours.

Am not worried there is a drama, just more curious as to why it takes them so long?

If you have already reached the correct number of status credits required to maintain a level then I don't see why they need to wait...

The "and so on" is important. You will note it also says you will continue to have access to your benefits for a month until your new card arrives. As a business they have a right and also a responsibility to audit and ensure all activity is correct. Lets not forget they also have to organise new cards to be issued etc.

I have the same review date as you. And on Feb 13 I took a trip which also made me eligible for gifting a companion gold membership. Velocity rang me Monday morning to congratulate me.

I don't mind that they need to check and audit, but for those who hit re qualification months early, why not check in between then and the end date?

It rolled over last Friday.

About two weeks after the actual roll over date.

All is good!

Hopefully the new card arrives promptly, as this might still use up more of your validity post rollover.

I still don't see the need for this extended review. Yesterday I called up to have my partner given companion gold having crossed 1,300 status credits. The check for validity took all of 10 seconds. So, the only system knew that I had re-qualified months ago, the person checking for companion gold eligibility took all of 10 seconds to confirm that I have >500 status credits than needed to re-qualify, and once my rollover date arrives it will take two weeks to confirm what Virgin has known for months.

I will be flying to NZ on NZ about 4.5 weeks after my rollover date. As the bookings are NZ and SQ redemptions, my VA plat status is not on the bookings (despite my attempts). So in order to benefit from status benefits from flashing my card at the airport, I have to hope that the card arrives promptly within the timeframes, and of course be grateful that I am not leaving say 2 weeks after roll-over for a longer trip.
