Hi, I don’t know if it’s me or if anyone else is experiencing this issue . I have been trying to add my etihad guest member number to a virgin australia booking . This is something I regularly do when booking flights online via virgins website . But for the last couple of weeks the website keeps rejecting my number . I have had E-Mails with etihad guest who tell me to contact virgin, and phone calls with virgin that go nowhere. Today, at the suggestion of virgin I booked tickets with the intention of adding etihad guest number after purchasing the tickets . Couldn’t do online, and then spent half an hour on phone with customer service who had no idea how to fix, I was even told at one stage that etihad are no longer partners with virgin !!! Does anyone have any insight or have experienced this ???
This flight will be the one I need to retain. My gold status !
Thankyou from one very frustrated Traveller

I also tried several times and my Etihad number is being rejected - which seems to be a system error.

Etihad still partners with Virgin - so you will be able to get your Tier miles to renew your status.
I'd try at check-in to get them to enter it when your ticket is under airport control.

If nothing works - you will still be able to get your miles retro-credited via their gold email address - it's done in less than a week per each claim.

Tried the VA app?
Yep tried that one too

Thankyou, I hoped that I would be able to retro claim . Just annoying that it’s not linked to actual ticket. I think that if I checkin online that my luggage won’t be marked as priority . But it’s good to confirm my thought that it’s an error with virgin and not my account

Just a quick update, after several weeks of trying, virgins website is now allowing me to add my etihad guest number. I guess they have sorted out their bug 😁

Another update on this problem. Am at airport today to check in for virgin flight. Boarding pass shows etihad guest, but no mention of gold status, which means hassles with priority boarding and lounge access . Virgin still can’t do anything to change. Just hope points allocate without to much hassle , as this is the flight that will keep my gold status

Have you tried to ask the staff to remove the ff number and then re enter it again ?

That's odd - make sure to keep your boarding pass and then retro-claim with EY. Should be no issues.
Yep will do, every other time we’ve fliwnbwith virgin (this is the 4th time this year) there has been no trouble. Booking made easily , and boarding pass printed with gold status. This time has just been difficult from the start .

Wonder if this is due to Etihad no longer using Sabre?

Feel like it is probably a program/software issue but no idea how which airline to attribute it too. We booked through virgin website as per normal
