Additional 30,000 bonus Velocity points with a new credit card (apply by 17/12/23)

So I applied for my $64annual fee card on 27 December for the 60k points promotion.

Yesterday I got 30,000 points credited as 'FLYER 60K OFFER' and another 30,000 points credited as 'DE 30KBPs November Campaign'

Guess I am lucky? I can't see evidence they extended the offer.
So you applied for a 60k offer and received 60k points.

Deservedly so, hardly lucky.

What's the 69k offer?

The offer I applied for was the 60k offer for $1500/m spend for first two months.

So I am expecting another lot of 30k in early March as I plan to spend $1500 this month as well.

Apologies 60k offer not 69k. Fat fingers.

Ok so the offer is for 30k each month of required spend. Ok well looks like you struck it lucky here. Another 30k velocity points coming next month. Nice work.

That's great. I reckon Virgin Money is being so generous. Spend another 1.5K then to get another 30K. Easy Peasy. I am waiting for my 30K - 2nd month now.

It was only because I looked at the cards details again that I realised I could also get $129 in a travel voucher, each year. Amazing.

Indeed, bear in mind too it was 30k each month for 2x months, plus VA themselves ran an offer for 30k when you apply for any Velocity direct earning card with an annual fee, during x-time period. So 90k VA in total, plus $129 travel voucher, for $64 annual fee.

In normal years it's a $129 annual fee, so you break even, not a bad deal but there's better. Year 1 it's a great deal though.

I know I could google, but what products do you think are a better deal than this one to keep longer term?

Whats better currently / out in the market than 90k points and zero annual fee in 1st year?

Is there a year 2 on credit cards?

If you're VA centric, then there's nothing wrong with this one, it is cost neutral, but the Amex Velocity Escape has no annual fee and a better earn rate, but has the slight issue of lesser acceptance (minimal ime these days, but it still comes up)

If you're willing to pay a higher annual fee, cards like ANZ black earn 2 ANZ Rewards points per $1 (with a 2:1 transfer rate=1 VA point per $1), but you'd need a high spend to make this sort of card worthwhile (great for the signup bonus though).

Which credit card is best for individual circumstances is such a subjective topic, it depends on too many variables for there to be a one size fits all, unfortunately.

First year? This is probably close to the best you get (not zero annual fee though). Is the extra 30k offer still running [EDIT: per the title no, but I'm not sure if it was extended]? Because if not, this is a 60k in year one offer (the other 30k was offered by VA, not by NAB).

A lot of cards are now starting to offer incentives payable in month 13, but mostly on QF points from what I've seen so far (although that's more my goal - I acquire both, but prioritise QF).

This promo is back. This time, it is 30K bonus points or 200SC. Shows both on Velocity & VA app on iPhone.

However, when I wanted to activate this offer - I only get the 30K bonus points options and not the 200SC option. There is no information in the T&C that prevents some members from selecting the 200SC option, unless, I have missed something?

On iPhone, the promo card shows in the home page, click on it, shows the details (30K bonus points or 200SC), click Select Benefit, does a quick FaceID check and then ONLY shows the 30K bonus points benefit, not the 200SC.

I was able to select the 200SC via the website on a computer/laptop though. So iPhone users beware and use a laptop/computer instead.

I cancelled my card 14/2/2024. Wondering if I am qualified to apply for another one  !!!????

I managed to trigger this offer and the previous offer in a single Virgin Money Flyer card. Received a total of 120k bonus points over 2 months.
Interesting, how long after you registered for second promotion did points arrive? Have been thinking of cancelling this card but may hold a little longer now!!

They arrived with the second set of 30k points, right when the latest statement was generated.
