Hi- very new at this unfortuately. Have just used our Qantas FF points to book business from Adel-Melb-LA-NY.
The ticketing details do not provide too many details.
Can we check our baggage through to NY from Adelaide or do we have to collect it at LA and then recheck to get to NY.
I am presumimg we will have to go through customs at LA??
At this stage we have seats allococated in row 21 left hand side. Am not presuming there are not too many bad seats in that area but any comments are appreciated.
Hopefully we can book using points from San Fran - Adelaide in a couple of months to get home.
Many thanks

Yes, everyone has to clear customs in LAX. Your bags will be tagged through to NY, but you have to get them in LAX, then go through customs, then put them in at the transit baggage area. Simple process.

All J seats are great. Unless you have status to select the best ones, stick with row 21.

As Boris said, although your bags may be tagged through to NY, you will still need to clear Immigration, collect your luggage, then clear Customs at LAX. Once you have done so, turn right and deposit your luggage in the transfer area.
Assuming you are flying QF/AA, exit the transfer area, go outside and turn right to Terminal 4. Keep walking for 5 minutes or so, take the escalators up to the next level and you will be at checkin. If you have a boarding pass go straight to security, if not then ask at a checkin desk.

You should get your BPs all the way to JFK when you check-in in Adelaide if they are all on the same booking.

I thought QF107 (LAX-JFK) departs from TBIT, not T4?? It certainly did when I was on it in April...
