Hi all,
I have two queries I'm hoping for some advice on.
Firstly, I'm an overseas based QFF Gold member. I will shortly reach the required status credits to retain my current status for another year (based on flights with OW partners) but will struggle to meet the eligible QF sector requirement as I'm not expecting to be back in Aus before my renewal date. Does anyone (a) know if Qantas is able to waive this requirement on a one-off basis or (b) have any general experience with this particular issue in? I appreciate that it is probably a long shot that Qantas would waive the requirement as I recall that it might be a requirement of the OW alliance rather than a QF-specific policy.
Secondly, I took out a 4 year Q Club membership back in 2019 when I was flying quite intensively for work. I was a bronze at the time and the Q Club membership was due to expire in May 2023, although I ended up making it to Gold by late 2019. Upon qualifying for Gold, I recall being told (in my membership pack) that my remaining months/years of my Q Club membership had been paused until such time I returned to Silver Status (or below). I know there was at least one Q Club extension provided during COVID (for about 6 months) and since then I have noticed that my Q Club is now due to expire in November 2023.
My question is therefore whether anyone has been/is in a similar situation with their QF Club membership and can report on their experience flagging this issue with Qantas (and/or Qantas' response).
