Advice on champagne

And then there are private virtual tastings, emerging as a way for people to stay connected in a meaningful way by substituting a big night out with a big night in. Stelzer points to one example he organised – an anniversary dinner – featuring premium champagnes, beautifully boxed and delivered to guests before the event kicked-off. Days later, he took a call from one of the guests who loved the champagne so much, he ordered $AUD20K worth.

That’s a great price for the Lanson. Can I ask which store? Can’t see locally in NSW .

it was at a few stores in Melbourne - in Sydney, Guildford has had clearance wines

A few more contenders:

$332.27 @ Cellarmasters after 25% Cashrewards (ends tomorrow) for those who missed the 1998 for $100 at First Choice in Adelaide and can't find the latter at Vintage Cellars for $314.10

Otherwise, at the BWS clearance sale, there might still be Krug Grande Cuvee $198, Perrier-Jouet Belle Epoque $130, Bollinger Grande Année $117.50, Pol Roger Vintage $65, Louis Roederer Vintage $65

Fair enough. Might give it a miss this time since the sale started last Thursday - good stuff is likely all gone.
I think it varies from store to store as well in the of discounts
Went to a BWS tonight and VC La grand dame 06 was $227 (down about $50)
Not much else there

Was about to order GB Shadrach at $60 and Meshach at $120 from BWS Cammeray before checking the thread and finding they come up much cheaper as Dan's mystery from time to time. There is also a listing for WB Black on that site for $60 but no stock

@qaz if I'm not misunderstanding, if the online store doesn't show the item/no stock then that means the physical store would have one or zero bottles in-store?

there should be no stock if it doesn't appear, and only one if it says find me nearby - but of course there can be exceptions, such as stores having a wine that isn't online or a different price in-store, the latter being the case with Pol Roger Vintage at Burwood East

you could always try price-matching :)

Bollinger has launched the premier edition of its first new Champagne cuvée since 2008 - PN VZ 15
As the name implies, it is a 100% Pinot Noir built on a core of fruit from Verzenay and based on the 2015 vintage.
Most of the base wines are from Verzenay, with additions from Aÿ, Bouzy and Tauxières, and reserve wines from 2009 and 2010.
Each release of PN will showcase a different cru from the base year that highlights its distinctive terroir and taste.
The price will be in between Special Cuvée and La Grande Année.
