Advice on champagne

Bit of a shame we don't see more action in this thread, I keep a look out but haven't seen anything more than the general storewide first choice/liquorland discount from cashrewards matched with a flybuys 2000 points for $50 spend.

My go to for an occasion is Veuve, I finally got a bottle of Louis Roederer and have to say this has taken the place from Veuve. Very enjoyable drop and am keen to try the vintage, but I also picked up a Billecart-Salmon so the tasting isn't over yet. All I need is a reason to pop the cork!
I have always found a Bollie to be an excellent drop. Best buying is at Costco.

Found another problem when I was checking out online payment "Unfortunately we do not accept Cheques, Money Orders, Gift Cards or flybuys points as online payment methods". Not quite sure how this 15% gift card discount with further online payment discount is possible!

if you didn't buy Louis Roederer from Dan's yesterday for $59.96 after 15% Cashrewards and 5% off WISH gift cards, then tomorrow go in-store to Vintage Cellars to buy a gift card with 15% Cashrewards and use it to order a bottle online with hopefully 10.5% Cashrewards for an effective $55.88 :)
Will this be available tomorrow?

Good price, I found some Louis Vintage at BWS FOR $80ISH, managed to get 2 bottles. 1 store down south had it on clearance for $65, this was 6 months ago tho.

Just a note, I'm 90% sure SB and CR don't do CB on champagne literally ever. If they do, it's super rare and it's always in the conditions.

sorry, didn't realise that Vintage Cellars don't allow gift card payments online, though perhaps not too surprising given that Coles don't either :(

no, ends today

20% off Dan Murphy's eBay with PAPDY20 - $50 min spend, $300 max discount, max 10 items per transaction; max 5 transactions - must pay with Afterpay or eBay gift cards - not stated, but presumably ends today
5% ShopBack on Swap Celebration gift cards via SB app, redeem for eBay gc

Bollinger PN VZ15 now sold out, but after 20% off PAPDY20, 5% ShopBack on gift card:
  • Vouette & Sorbee Fidele Blanc de Noirs $104.99 - 1 left
  • Piper-Heidsieck Rare Millesime 2002 $217.49 - 4 left
  • Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve $67.46
  • Bollinger Special Cuvee $56.21

Bummer, paid $74.95 - 2% cashback from Dan's, was the best price I'd seen for a while. Cancelled my amex recently before the annual fee came into play. If I can find some for $65 I'll stock up on some, unfortunately I follow this thread for Champagne not the other so looks like I miss some deals when everything is posted in the red thread.

Tried the Billecart-Salmon last night, not bad but not quite what I'm after. Didn't have much of a wow factor for me that I get from Louis Roederer or Veuve. Now I'm on the hunt for Louis Roederer vintage, keen to see the difference over the NV.

Not bad but I got some from vintage cellars @ $71.25 - 15% earlier in the week :)

First Choice have 15% cashback ending tonight, also has 2000 flybuys for $50 spend and another 2000 if $100 is spent on their selected items. Included 7 champagnes.

Marc Chauvet still $39 in 6pk @ d’Or to Door (+ delivery)

Thanks QAZ, any thoughts as to that stuff? I haven't heard of it before.

Firstly, you still need to pay postage on the Marc Chavaut. Having said that, I'm a regular buyer at $39/bottle. Far superior to say Piper Heidsick and Moet which are dearer. It's a great, fresh entry level champagne that gets even better with a year of bottle age on it.

What about relative to Lanson, which can be had around $30-35? I think that is our staple bubbles at the price point and I think it is really crisp and clean, with enough flavour to keep it going. Also like the disgorgement date on the NVs.

It's been so long since I last tried Lanson NV, I can't quite recall what it's like. Personally, I don't think you can go wrong here but everyone's tastes are different.

for me, champagne is a celebratory/occasional drink rather than quaffer, so the only ones that i'd probably pay for less than that are Pol Roger and Lanson Gold, else Marc Chauvet is my remaining budget pick still available for around $40 that hasn't increased in price :)

Any opinions on Canard Duchene? Catalogue special at First Choice with 20% cashback, oddly it's slightly cheaper to buy half bottles which also makes it easier to get the 6 bottle price without being too far over the $20 cashback max.

Is CB included for champagne?

I think I have some Canard Duchene, haven't tried it tho. I may of got it with CB, so it may be included. It's been on discount for a while tho, because I believe I've had it for quite a while.

Correct, CB for Champagne, some have Champagne at a different rate or beer at barely anything but it's 20% standard rate storewide.
