Flying tomorrow on award flight with QR LHR- SYD in J. I have checked in on line but couldn’t print boarding my pass.
But, I just received notification to check in for a Finnair award flight that I cancelled months ago when the QR flight opened up. Points and $ were refunded by QF for the cancelled Finnair flight
( also in J but leaving from LHR much later in the day.)
Is it possible QF refunded me points and $ but didn’t inform Finnair ?
Should I call Finnair and cancel the (apparent double) booking?

NB Sin - Syd leg was with Malaysian

Was it the Qantas app that gave the notification?

It now errors out…..so confusion sorted ?

No, emails from Finnair. One a week before for choosing meals and one at 24 hrs for check in.

I’ve recently had SMS’s for adjusted QF flight departure times … flights I didn’t book & knew nothing about.

Has happened a few times to me. So many covid cancelled flights. Kind of like a kick in the stomach

I have also experienced these alerts from various airlines. Seems flight alert queue is independent of reservation and can remain active after res is cancelled.

I had a trip to SIN QF flight in January cancelled by me in December after QF made a schedule change. I received a travel credit and there were no active flight bookings on the website or app, just the flight PNR with credit. Then a day before my original flight I received a text saying check-in was open. I called qantas and got Hobart, who informed me that my Booking was still active and if I just ignored the text I would have been a no-show!

Wonder if they could process another refund?

Even better when the whole week before the cancelled flight, you are getting 'Prepare for your trip', 'would you like a car' emails...

I’ve had those QF app alerts from dead bookings. It was particularly “rubbing salt into wounds” during Covid lockdowns…

Yep - I even had those notifications for flights that *Qantas* had cancelled during the lockdowns.
