I wonder how much Woolies would care about multiple copies of the EDR card being used. I mean it's all revenue to them so hard to know, but it's probably against T&C somewhere.

Well I guess this guy values petrol over petrol guzzling aircraft, but my real question is.. 200k QFF points is a lot of spend on the discover (and EDR) to get them - even with the EDR bonuses and things. uh ya think he might have spent that money on his petrol anyway? seems like he and the family have enough income somehow...

just musing...

To be fair to this guy, Qantas points are only of value when you use them. 1500 points for $10 is not a great conversion rate, but saving points for an overseas J trip just might not be in his radar right now.
For me, I want to see at least $10 value per 1000 points (equating 8000 points to $80 off a short domestic flight). Perhaps people think I am not much better, but YMMV.
Another thought is he is just trying to "create content", which can lead to riches, apparently.

I think that’s the issue. His suggestion might suit his personal circumstances but the issue is he is spruiking it as an awesome idea for everyone as “content”

I definitely agree that "value" is subjective for everyone based on their own circumstances. Many here aim for partner rewards in premium cabins, or upgrades or whatever... joe public just wants to try to get the kids to Bali or to see granny (and then frustrated with school holiday issues) and still others save for a Y trip to Disney or redeem on JQ to Bali. Some do points+pay. Still others see value in toasters, gift cards and well.. petrol.

And each of us will give our own value judgements on each of those too. That's kind of human nature.

At the end of the day if people are happy with their use of their loyalty points then that's the main thing? Even if others might think it's an unwise use of points or poor value. If the other things aren't an option, than that use is perfect for them.

others save for a Y trip to Disney
That's me very soon. Value in that case was over $20 per 1000 points, but such trips are rare, so I will burn points for domestic travel at less value as well. I can't bring myself to buying the toaster just yet though. I need to save some points for J travel post kids.
