Advice Please ... [my PC account is 'locked']

"There's a scary coincidence" ... sure is !! I too have 65k PCR points, and three 'free' nights booked at this time !!

But as for eBay, and "all" RA referrals coming from Australia ... no, I've seen them offered from all over the world.

I know the 'unlimited' number seller ( that I've read the 'offer' ). It sounds very much researched in a 'legal' sense. Wouldn't be surprised if run by a lawyer !!

I just can't see why PCR can't be upfront, and send all affected account holders an email message, explaining what they are doing / going to do.

BTW, I surfed onto the PC Connect Forum ( in the States, I think ). PMed a 'Carolyn' ( PC Community Manager ) to ask her advice. On an USA PC forum, she has offered to 'unlock' accounts, and offers x advice here and there ... )

In my experience, Carolyn is pretty good at getting things sorted one way or another.

Have a look at your account now Gordon. Mine has been re-instated with an deduction of points and marked as "Goodwill adjustment".

Maybe I have been forgiven, mind you the adjustment is about 1000 more points than i originally scammed

Not yet for me ...

I've sent off a few more emails, here and there ...

but I wouldn't quite say, that I "scammed" points. As the 'horse' that was led to the water ... I took a drink !!

A drink, a gulp or a guzzle, or in some cases from whats posted by others, a script induced shower!

Just be patient, hopefully it will come shortly, if I remember you did 17, I did 14 so your crime isnt too much more than me. Dont know if being a paid up Platinum Ambassador had anything to do with it, dont know if you are the same. Good luck

"paid up ..."

Yeah, there's been a bit said about 'paying' for Ambassador - especially RA.

In the RA New Member booklet, it actually says, that a RA can refer an "associate" to PURCHASE RA status. Yet there has been a lot of snide remarks about anyone who has 'acquired' RA status as a referral. Does it ( should it ) really matter that much ? If IHG were that concerned, they should introduce the 'family transfer' concept that QANTAS use - must state how the 'referral' is RELATED to you.

Still no word from Carolyn of PCR in the States ...

I've would have no problem in using an referal from an associate to RA however after the last couple of days and with what is going on I would want to be sure that IHG and the ambassador program have no problem with it. I guess if it is in the members guide it must be ok but a few weeks ago when I enquired with ambassador about RA membership they indicated that only they could make an offer of RA membership.

Yesterday, to get my membership back I rang the Sydney phone number 02 9935 8362 and was answered by someone in the states, was told what my problem was and when I asked what I could do about getting reinstated I was told that a manager would ring me back. No one rang but account went active about 4 hours later. Dont know why yours is taking so long

"Sydney" ??

I rang the 02 number and got connected to Manila !!

The 02 number which is a Sydney number will divert to the nearest CSS, the ambassador office has limited hours, I generally dont put the number in so I get a PC CSS, and I generally ring around 6 or 7 so I get the US CSS, I think they drop off around 8.

Yes sorry gordon, didnt mention it in our PM but I have also rung very early in the morning (around 5 or 6 am) and have always gone through to the states

( didn't get to achieve what I was looking to do, so seems a bit odd and probably a waste of effort. )

Finally got my RA back.
PCR took all the promo points, even the very first entry.
Just glad to still have my RA ( yeah, regardless of HOW I got it !! )
Changed over to a pseudo - you can imagine why. I'll be going 'quite' for a while, I think ...

Sorry, the link doesn't seem to work. Any idea of what should go before the au.finance ??

I tried http:// with and without www

Maybe just try to look up the story yourselves.

Basically, this family entered a Pepsi comp. 11,000 times ( using scripts ? )

Pepsi refused to pay ( of course ) ...

Arrh good, thanks for that. i see it just required dropping the 'au' before the word 'finance'.

Anyway, apparently the family actually got paid 1 x 500 GBP prize each ( they won many prizes, but Pepsi put a limit of one prize per person ).
