AFF 3 day outage (April 2021)

I still don't get any email notifications of new posts as I used to do before outage.

Lazy loading of images is still slow. I realise this is down the list of things to deal with.

Yep, still getting the odd host outage i.e. Cloudflare is up but can't hit the AFF host.

Sorry, I can't replicate this. Also no one else has raised this as an issue. XF 2.0 - watch forum threads or messages confusion has a good explanation of how this feature works.

BTW: Earlier this morning we migrated to the new server. Zero downtime

Sorry, but I know how it all works. I have logged out, logged in, checked the preferences, checked email address, unwatched threads, resubscribed to watch threads, all to no avail. I see notifications in the bell in the toolbar but I do not get emails for new posts for subscribed threads.

I've had similar with another forum and all they could say is that my mail host must be blocking their e-mails! Interestingly it doesn't even hit my spam solution that I have sitting in front, so it's not like it's hitting there and getting blocked/rejected, might be the same here? Not sure.

All worked happily this am until I tried the view from my office thread and got this:

Went away and did a few other things, and now coming back the thread loads normally.

I am getting that occasionally too but soon rights itself.

Lazy loading speed is improved, but still not as fast as it used to be. The experience when scrolling through a picture heavy thread is sub-optimal IMHO. Again, bigger fish to fry elsewhere. Providing feedback, not complaining

Yes I thought of this and checked all our spam filters etc, but no obvious blocks at our end. No other emails are getting blocked.

I wonder if the fact that there were outstanding messages at the time of the outage means that the forum software is blocked itself from sending new messages? Maybe needs some restart of emails etc?

Maybe worth seeing if a mail trace can be done. Are you still receiving the Gazette? I would imagine so as that's likely going out via a different server.

Well that would require AFF admin to do that wouldn't it.

I changed my email address on my account and I received that email.

update: Now working. I changed my registered email address a couple of times and that seems to have restarted the system.

Received it again, but looks like the site was down 30 minutes or so again for maintenance (as received a maintenance message then, but cannot reach host just now) so assume something happening in the background. Will leave you guys to it but if you do need any other info just shout.

This was a separate issue related to some caching changes that were made and then reverted.
