AFF Cruise #2. Rerun. Crown Princess 4 nights 25-29 January 2025

Do Princess park at the OPT at Circular Quay, or somewhere else?

Edit.. I'll have a spare black medallion holder wrist band for anyone who wants it

Thanks for the heads up - going to borrow one from a friend.

BTW that friend, who is an avid cruiser, also works as a greeter, at Port of Hobart when the vessel arrives in Hobart. So some good advice will be available for those without plans.

Can I ask if there is anyone doing this cruise coming from SA, VIC, TAS, QLD or WA?

Thanks for your replies JessicaTam, Major and Rooflyer.

Reason I asked is I have a crazy idea for one of the gifts for my partner’s significant birthday this March so I’ll start by asking if anyone would be up for the challenge of bringing a packet of Arnott Ginger Nut cookies with them?

Apparently every state has their own Ginger nut recipe.

I have a significant birthday in April.
I love the ginger nut bickies and will bring a packet

Not quite Flyfrequently.
My travel essentials are passport, credit card, some fx and a feather travel pillow. Kat’s (my partner) is Ginger Nut cookies and Scrappy Bear - the bear is a whole other story 😂😂😂.

Happy to oblige. If we don’t meet up I will happily eat them. There’s always a packet or two in the pantry.

Thanks Jess

Currently staying at the Sofitel Wentworth. We had lunch at Delta Rue yesterday, food was good, service a bit patchy - Accor Plus discount applies.

Dinner at Tilda last night - both food and service were excellent - no Accor Plus discount.

The courtyard - Wentworth Bar is fully covered from the hotel building side and is a very nice space.

IMHO the lobby is very bland and lacks atmosphere. Checking in at the kiosk is obviously preferred but if you arrive early and wish to leave your bags and hope your room might be ready before 3pm, then you have to check in at Guest Services - ‘hidden’ to the left of the check in kiosk. They do send a text when the room is ready and you have to go back to GS to collect your key - we waited 20 mins as there was only one agent on at 3pm - excuse was lack of staff due to the train delays caused by industrial action - have people not heard of buses or leaving a little earlier for work rather than just not going in at all?

Drink vouchers appear in the app and can be used at Bar Tilda - house wine or soft drink - or the Wellness centre. The House Made Tempranillo was very good.

Buffet breakfast is in Delta Rue and a la carte in Tilda.

Never heard of that. Let me check out Hobart tomorrow.

Thanks RooFlyer. I have read somewhere else that there is a ‘local’ version from TAS.

We are staying at Cremorne (North Sydney) 24th, catching up with UK friends for lunch, then a property inspection of our unit (so the tax man pays for our accommodation) and leaving our car at unit.
Thinking about doing an “escape room” friday night, or/and visit to Cookatoo Island.
