And the seagulls swoop

Hi all,
I am in the Qantas Club lounge in Townsville waiting for the 7.35pm flight back to Brisbane.
I have enjoyed reading about the week-end in Brisbane and hope you all had a great time.
I also hope the golfers enjoyed The Brisbane Golf Club and congratulations to the winner.

JohnK, hope to catch up soon. Also hope you come back refreshed and ready to go.

Thank you for organising the opportunity to play at The Brisbane Golf Club, it was most appreciated !

To all the other attendees
It was a pleasure to put a face to a name and to meet you all after all this time, I hope you all have a safe trip home.

To the organisers
Wow, well done on a great job!

Yes and a big thanks from me as well Max1.Really enjoyed my day at the Brisbane golf club.If anyone makes a comment about the fellow with the loud shorts-I plead guilty.
To Anat01 and all the organising committee a big thanks-was great catching up with a lot more AFFers-and at last seeing an AFF tag on a bag other than my own.:p:lol:

Thanks to Qantas' coughpy wifi I couldn't post this from the lounge, but at least one member managed to find an NPPP with branding:

My 'flight' to OOL was fairy quick, 50 minutes was all it took.

Well, that was a great weeked - great to meet all of you, and and a special thanks to the organisers.

I am not home yet, but continuing the tradition by having a NPPP in SYD while waiting for my connecting flight back to CBR.

Being able to points upgrade to J on a flight that ended up being 100% full/oversold was great. Sorry to the person that missed out on the op up because of me (unless of course it was supposed to be me) :)

Next flight is also J0 Y0 so will be cozy. I have 4D for that one :)

I'm at home in Melbourne now, recovering from today's sunburn (and lack of sleep )

Thanks all, it was a great do! It was really nice to put some names and faces to handles as well as catch up with some old friends. I have some photos to post later.

Big thanks to anat0l and the BrisVegas crew for all the organising. Thanks also to MAX_1 for organizing the golf, it was a great day!

Back home via 1E:oops::mrgreen:. Had a great time:p Great to catch up with old faces, and meet new ones. Thanks anat01 for doing the majority of the organising:!:

Back home in Melbourne after a great weekend. Good to catch up with old friends and to meet some new ones.

Thanks to the organisers for getting it together, and hope to see you all again next time.

Back home now. Thanks to the Brissy crew for organising such a memorable weekend, a great time was had by myself and OH. I'm glad that the forecast for a rainy weekend turned out to be totally wrong - beautiful weather, albeit a bit too hot for this Southerner. And it was fab to meet the regulars as well as some new faces! :D See you all at the next event!

Back home via 1E:oops::mrgreen:.

 But really, how was 43K? ;)

Good thing I had some NPPP in the lounge, as they were more enjoyable than the 'meal' on the flight back to MEL.

Eventually home after arriving at Jetport Parking to discover right rear tyre flat as a tack. - and trouble at every turn changing it, but got there in the end. :)

cough end to what was a most enjoyable weekend catching up with friends old and new.

Many thanks to anat0l, samh004, Bundy Bear, the absent JohnK (hope Asia is going well) and anyone else I've missed who may have contributed to the organisation of the weekend...and not forgetting MAX_1 on behalf of the golfers, and markis10 for the ride to the airport.

Now, where's the next one going to be held? ;)

Glad to see everyone had a great time. Well done to all the organisers and it has been great to get regular updates of what has been going on. Wish I could have been there but unfortunately that is how things worked out after my sickness.

2010 Golf Winner was OzBeachBandit (41 "off the stick" on the front 9).
What was his handicap? As I was not there you were the official handicapper for the day and as official handicapper you are allowed to adjust anyone's handicap as required if you suspect them being of being a bandit. ;)

JohnK-pity you couldn't make it-you would have seen me make a few drives down the middle of the fairway....
I have only ever seen you hit drives into the middles of trees, middle of the water, middle of the bunkers but never on the fairway. :p Just kidding.

JohnK, hope to catch up soon. Also hope you come back refreshed and ready to go.
Brisbane drinks should be on again soon. More than likely 17 Novelmber 2010 and then pre-Christmas drinks on 15 December 2010 if the other regulars agree.

So far so good. Managed to make it to SIN OK and I am sitting in the Skyview Lounge waiting for my morning flight. I feel relaxed already and hope I am able to have a couple of games of golf.

No handicaps, so I guess the bandit bit can not logically apply ... but when a guy who has not played "for 18 months" is using hire clubs and hits their drive off the 1st tee a bit to the right but with a slight draw to the left ending in the middle of the fairway ~220 metres from the tee .... ;)

Oh, drron hit several fairways, sometime even the ones were were playing at the time. :p

I was working on the theory that the event of the day was "nett" stroke not "gross" stroke. Oh well.

....but when a guy who has not played "for 18 months" is using hire clubs and hits their drive off the 1st tee a bit to the right but with a slight draw to the left ending in the middle of the fairway ~220 metres away .... ;)
Lucky shot. :p

Hey, a fairway is a fairway. ;)

So is anyone posting the scores? Or is that best left aloine. :p

Good thing I had some NPPP in the lounge, as they were more enjoyable than the 'meal' on the flight back to MEL.

I'd second that...:-| Luckily I also had a fairly large steak for brunch.
Agree about the poor catering. :-|

"Penne with Pesto sauce and oven roasted vegetables"!! (Penne with about two teaspoons of a green looking gravy with limp carrots and a few other bits of vegeis - IMHO tasteless!)

Aside from being airline food; If I want a vegetarian "meal" I would have requested one. (Apologies to all those vegans out there)

Not much moves me on this level (I mean it is "only" airline food); but I am going to register a complaint to Qantas about this ...
