Mmmmmm.

How about at approx 1540 Thur :?:

Four of us arriving on QF926 at 1520. :D

I can pay approx 280,000 Ansett points.

That at would be great, however depends on how large penegals boot is ? After being away for nearly 3 weeks we have a large case, middle size case and a carry on case !! We are also considering hiring a car for use on Friday and thought if we do we would collect at the airport, so if the penegal taxi service is not available we would be able to take you, depending on how much luggage you have. No doubt we will see you in the SYD J lounge on Thursday, so can discuss then.

After surviving a JQ flight from KUL, life is back to normal. Quite a shock to discover that KLIA2 does not have a lounge !!!
After a short visit to the QF lounge we are now in the new BA lounge. Quite impressed with this new lounge. Also going to check out the EK lounge before returning to QF lounge to have a shower before our flight. Life is good !!!! Especially with champagne.

Your luggage would fit in penegals back seat, leaving all that boot space for you two to lounge in!

Less work for Red Roo then, 2 down 4 to go :p
They're only selling 2 J seats for the flight, so we're in for a fight. :p

Although since they aren't selling Y at all, perhaps a couple of us would find ourselves up in row 3 without having to do anything.

If anyone is looking for a bottle shop to purchase some drinks for any after-dinner parties, there's a BWS under Mantra Trilogy, 2 Aplin Street (one block south of DT).

Closer to the Hilton, there's a Bottlemart on 30 Abbott Street, next to the Cairns Post building, or a BWS connected with Woolworths, 80 Lake Street.

Oh, and if you are looking for some great authentic Japanese and Korean meal options for lunch or dinner, I can highly recommend these two places:

Ganbaranba Noodle Collosseum, 12/14 Spence St
Corea Corea, upstairs in Orchid Plaza, 32/58 Lake St

Water Bar and Grill, on the Marina at the Pier, is my absolute favourite restaurant in Cairns for steak and ribs... the Pork Ribs are HUGE and very tasty.
Salthouse is a great location, but I find it a bit hit-and-miss for its food. It's a good spot for an evening drink. (As is Mondo's at Hilton -- can highly recommend the chicken sate with fried rice.)
And Dundees, while a bit "touristy", actually does great meals and is a great location along the inlet (only a 50 metre walk from Hilton).
If you love a good meat-lovers pizza (but don't mind a beer-sticky floor), the Rattler at Rattle'n'Hum on the Esplanade is delicious. Great place to watch the Rugby finals over the weekend too ;)
And Devine Gelato, 3/5 Aplin St (across from the BWS, one block south of DT) is the place to go for dessert.

For morning-recovery breakfast, some suggestions are
Rehab, 46 Lake St
Bang and Grind, 14 Spence St
or there's a bunch of cafes along Grafton St between Spence and Shield Sts, such as Lillipad, Paleo Cafe, and Caffiend.

.... or we could put penegal on the roof if necessary.

I'm also happy to stop by Uncle Murphy's on the way into town if people would like to buy any more select choices that the BWS don't carry.

There's also 1st Choice at 86 Sheridan St (2 blocks over from the main bus terminal away from the esplanade).

Will definitely keep those in mind... though I was thinking of Ochre on the Sunday for lunch before heading to the airport, thoughts?

The lucky ones who get row 3 will sneak J wine to row 4 then everyone will be happy :D

Yes, Ochre has a good rap for serving "Australian"-themed meals with a local-ingredients focus. I ate dinner there in April, first time for many years and wasn't disappointed in the meal.

Its still there ...come on VA , give me the last J seat please :)...no one is going to buy it for $1285 !!!!!

Oh VA , you are tempting me with a minimum upgrade bid $180 to J . Only paid $125 e/way ($250 rtn) ex SYD. Normal o/way J Fare is $845 , so $305 is looking pretty damn good.

Edit : Only 1 Biz seat left on SYD-CNS . I put the min bid in . I don't expect to get it , but you have to be in it to win . :)

This after party thingy sounds dangerous, a bottle each, and after the dinner gathering as well! What if no one scored a suite upgrade, where would we go - the esplanade and drinking from brown paper bags?

So many AFFers on QF655 and no complementary alcohol in Y to celebrate :(

Red Roo should do something about that ;)

At least two of us are in J ;)

I'm on a Flexi both ways, so my upgrade went through straight away for the inbound, but on request for the return. Being only a humble Gold, I'm in the exit row (13) unless I get the QF Upgrade Fairy SMS.

Nor the points earn on the 1:1 credit card for the bill ;)

If you get it please select seat 3C, I'm counting on you for alcohol supply, I don't do dry Sundays :p
