Would like to thank everyone on behalf of SMJ +1 and myself for being so welcoming and friendly!!

We've had a great weekend, looking forward to the next time we can attend.

Special thanks to everyone who organised the weekend!

Snorkeling at Michaelmas Cay was fantastic. ..saw lots of fish and a giant turtle...shame that photos did not upload.

Turns out it was sunnier than I realised at Green Island, a tad redder than I intended. Our A330 has been subbed for a refurb but we can't upgrade yet...

I'm sitting here having a relax at the DT after the Green Island trip. I suspect most/all of the Hilton folk may well sustain themselves this evening with comp food and drinks in the lounge, but if anyone fancies an informal meal somewhere this evening sing out (or post) because i'm certainly going to need one.

Oh and I'm in possession of of a lovely pair of 'Compression Flight Socks' which I believe to be the property of mickeyc747 (and I'm sure he would look most fetching in them :) ) - so I'm happy to get them to you one way or another MC if you're still about.

Hot tip...don't eat too many prawns when on a boat! !

Hmmm I was declined as they are 'fully booked'. Feedback me thinks. Are you Gold or Diamond?

The management at the DT was shocking.... So no surprises there, it seems proactivity is something foreign to them and finding a quick happy solution is something not in their vocab despite what the sign on the front desk says.

Sorry tuapekastar, my group made a boo-boo (read screwed up) so all hands on deck finishing this assignment before Friday and I won't be able to make dinner tonight.

Big thanks to everyone who help organise an awesome event, JessicaTam, straitman, samh004, and penegal, you guys organised an absolute blast of a weekend. Thank you RedRoo and Mr John Lucas, your generosity with your time and prizes is much appreciated. This weekend was awesome and I cannot wait to attend future events and meeting everyone on AFF.

We are at the Hilton at lounge #3 of the lounge crawl (QF, VA, Hilton). Can guest you if you want.

A few of us will likely head out for "proper" dinner soon.

Reached home, older aircraft on both flights back, no shadow but had 2 superb CSMs which more than made up for it. The CSM on QF925 looked after Jojen and +1 well in Y. Hope the Y pax on the party flight to BNE get to enjoy some J pampering too. Also sat next to a Dreamliner pilot from Cns-Syd and had very interesting chats. Thanks to everyone again, superb weekend away.

20 mins early which is always nice. Great flight down . Thanks for a great weekend everyone

200 Japanese schoolchildren currently booking into the DT...goody

Our party flight landed safely. It was 100% full so no shadows or upgrades for anyone but those of us in Y made sure to compensate for the lack of free booze onboard with a visit to the BNE J lounge...

It was fun weekend, thanks to all the organisers, guest speakers, Penegal for the airport pick up and Kevrosmith for the grand tour on the way back.

Finally, I hope everyone remember the words of the Hilton Cairns GM: if it's under $10 they don't chase it :D

See you all next year (in Perth).

Hopefully I can make this one.
Me too but unfortunately with variable dates it is almost impossible to attend. Will be booking commuting flights for Jul-Oct 2016 as soon as next specials are released.

Then there's Thailand July and October.

At the appropriate time, I will start the thread, and it will be AFF Gathering #10: PER! :)
Actually JessicaTam and I have just spent an hour (+/-) discussing this and have come up with a cunning plan for DRW that works as well, if not better than PER.

I'm more interested in returning to Drw than Per...dates are going to be the big issue for me as I have flights already booked up to October next year:eek:...I guess the Southern States' winter time would be the most popular time to visit Drw!

What an amazing weekend.

Thank you to all and sundry for coming along and making it so much fun. As usual with these dos it was great to see so many familiar faces, and meet some new people for the first time. I hope we didn't scare you off!

Special mentions to the organisers who actually organised (straitman and JessicaTam), the guest speakers (Ian & John), the members who donated prizes (Doug_Westcott, Major, admin & Red Roo), the host of the infamous after party (tuapekastar), my two "mothers" (jojen and Fifa) and finally mickeyc747 who could keep up the pace for 4 big nights in a row.

See you all again soon :)
