AFF London Drinks

Indian could be the way to go. I've found English pub fare to be depressingly similar and ordinary. No doubt there are exceptions but it'd be a brave man to try and pick one.

There are a few gastro pubs around. BB, did you have an area in mind?

Cheers

i think my solution after running with the london hash house harriers of a cab from wherever it was i got off to paddington worked well!

how long did it take you guys to get home?

About 1am for me... think we left around 11ish pm. My disadvantage is that I dont currently live in London but rather a bit north. Although the "entertainment" from a few London lasses did make up for the lateness.

Yes, yes it did!

We're thinking of meeting at London Victoria around 7, then heading to either Brick Lane or Tooting from there (good curries although Brick Lane has gone a bit 'meh' in my opinion!). Tooting would be my preference given it's a Saturday night.... Brick Lane generally has a bit of a drunk element to it. Yes, I'm getting old... get off my lawn!

Edit: I believe everyone's planning to meet around 5pm. My suggestion would be a pub somewhere around London Victoria, then can head off from there once I finish hockey.

You have hockey so we will see you about 7:00pm but the rest probably around 5:00pm or soon after.

Yeah, can easily be swayed towards Tooting - just need to double check the timetables, and do agree about your opinions of Brick Lane these days.

Pre-drinks around Victoria sounds good. If cheap pints is what is wanted, I think Wetherspoons at Victoria Station is probably a good choice, if a classy bar or pub is wanted, then there are plenty of nearby options (but pints will be fairly exy around there).

Timetables look fine, it's only the northern part of the Northern Line that has works on this weekend :)

Agree with the comment on drinks. You guys can get that out of the way before I arrive, no drinks for me if I'm still sick! (first time in over a year, doh!)

Hi guys

Are the drinks at Victoria - Wetherspoons still scheduled for 17 November? I wouldn't mind coming along and having a few drinks in the evening - and to catch up with other frequent flyers in London. Alas, whilst I'm based here now for work, I would love to make it a monthly thing for frequent flyers passing through London.

Absolutely! Always good to meet a few more locals. Now that there's at least 3 of us here, I don't see why we can't kickoff something monthly.

Hi guys

I'm a late scratching unfortunately - we get in from Seoul at 5pm, have dinner with friends at 8pm and will no doubt be stalking the clubs of Soho thereafter.

It would've been great to catch-up with you guys!

I'd be keen on a regular meeting. Can't make this week as I'm going to Boracay on Friday for some sun  - but I would fancy a beer every now and then. Having lived in London for ~10 years I've got a decent knowledge of the pub scene too so would be happy to suggest places.

24 hour bump.

Plan still is to meet at Wetherspoons from 5pm. Can't predict yet which table we will be at there as it can be very busy and the crowd is transient.

Avlawyer82 I will pm you my mobile number later on today.

I'm probably a 50/50 on this now, but will try my best. Hopefully should be OK.

Hi guys, still free so will see you there for a beer for an hour or so. Mal, will keep an eye for your message and will text you when I'm heading to the pub.
