Had a look at Lovisa this morning. Have never been in a store. The gross profit margin was 78% on sales.
Now that is better than 3M in the US.

Insurance companies will take a hit tomorrow as it becomes clear how much property has been damaged in Qld with NSW to follow if it continues to track south.

I am now in a quandary. i invest in some medical technology companies as I can usually find out some background info. Doing well with Immutech,IMM. However they have announced they are appointing Lucy Turnbull to the board. Would like to ditch them for that but it won't be too long before it is known whether it will take off on positive trial results.
Covid and ukraine won't affect them.

My view/reaction would be to go with your research, not be clouded by “personalities”. I guess Mrs Turnbull is an independent director without a managing role.

I hold Lovisa and have done so for a while. It's an incredibly good business. Not only does it have great margins it can fund new store openings out of cashflow and the setup costs of new stores are paid back very quickly. They have global ambitions and their global expansion plans are only just beginning. Online is also a big part of their business and it is growing well too. There are some very intelligent retail people behind this business. Do your own research as this is in no way a recommendation to do anything.

Good day finally for MVP.

For the green whistle approval from FDA for trial.

The SP been on a very poor run last 6 months.
Lovely 30% rise this morning

MFG is also behaving as I thought it would, recording a new low of $16.14 last week. I can only see more downside here.

Today sees a dramatic reversal.

MFG hits another new 52 week low.

Now that it's not so dramatic reversal has not played out (read dead cat bounce), I expect it to continue down to around $13.00-$14.50 level where there are some previous signs of support.

For the value chasers, "Polymetal" (russian silver and gold mining company, listed on the LSE code poly) is trading on a pe of 1, yes share price = last year's earnings!

If you're thinking of following the "smart money" like Redrock, they doubled their stake (to over 10%, serious money) in Polymetal a few days ago after the share price dropped 70% to about £340. Price now?...£177.
Catch a falling knife? No, I'm not recommending anything.

I think LSE has suspended trading on all Russian companies now.

As has the Russian stock exchange since sanctions started, so the price has never fallen.

Using the philosophy that since nobody has sold anything cheaply, nobody has lost any money (or at least making it look that way).

AUD and metals are going up and Euro is going down.
Sold some bank shares over the past week as ATO wants to get paid sooner than later.

Yes travel is going to get more expensive as oil was going mad today. Happy times if you have oil, gas and coal shares.

Odds of breaking the 2008 record oil price looking good.

Its also one of the major commodities to affect consumer sentiment and spending.

Might be interesting to watch electric car sales.....
