AFF Member Stock Discussion

Any thoughts on the IAG purchase plan? I'd be looking at buying as many as possible, good idea given state of world events?

Cossie you can enjoy the jump in insurance premiums if you buy IAG shares. They may be liable to pay out about $750 million in business interruption claims caused by Covid. The case they lost in the NSW Supreme Court may be appealed.

Last night we were allocated 25% of the BET shares we applied for so that placement was quite sought after by many @$0.60. We did get in around $0.40 the first time we bought and this stock is a work in progress.

Had to do some paperwork for our accountant and we found that we have about 150 shares and bonds that are listed. Probably time to reduce this number but there is the idea of the thrill of the chase.
Gold has been going back up but so has the Australian dollar which has gone over 0.74 overnight.
Copper is running hot so Aeris AIS has been my pick seeing they have a gold mine and a copper mine.Their funding was at 3 cents which looks cheap this morning.

When the market is going up there is not much need to do a savage trimming.
When the market reverses the time to get out was the day before......
We spend more time on the red ones....
CV Check seem to think sales are profits....record sales at CV1 but do they know the word profit. We must ask the CEO that question the next time he is presenting.

IPOs are a mugs game.

You need to get in on the private placements before the IPO. Typically, the IPO price is twice what the early investors would have paid.

Private placements are also higher risk than IPO, since those funds are raised in an earlier stage of the business. But I do agree that IPO can be bad since the good ones are heavily oversubscribed, so you don't end up with much.

Have been liking copper, but feel a run on nickel is coming next

Yes for nickel we bought PAN shares as their new management are rated as ok. Their new approach is exciting.
Today we bid for BID who are still in losses but have a CEO who knows what the word profit means. They are building the business with the UK purchase that this placement is covering.

We do have IGO as a nickel producer.
We do like smaller companies so we have Veem and Valmec both having good growth prospects. Occasionally a business will crash and burn but that tends to be because they don’t know anything about profitable trading.
We were allocated 19% of BID so we are glad we bid for many.
Both BET and BID have a good group of supporters who expect these two to grow quickly and become profitable in the next couple of years.

If AIS goes the way of FMG it will be very happy days.
