AFF Member Stock Discussion

I tried to sell my BHP shares today to take a nice profit. Unfortunately, there was a hitch with my stockbroking bank. So I still own the shares. I hope that they go up again tomorrow.

O/N moves: Brent +5% and iron ore +2%... BHP ADR up over 3%... your broker's stuff up is your gain today...

Thank you mms498. I sold the BHP shares this morning for $44.54, making an even higher profit. The market isn't looking too good now. BHP are down below $43.87 at present.

I find the stockmarket to be a bit addictive. I've been interested in shares for quite some time. I was able to indulge myself when my parents left me some money. I really like franking credits.

yep... wish i had more time to devote to research/reading/learning :)

We remember getting rubbished for holding shares in the smaller caps and got told that Wesfarmers and TPG were the place to go. Turns out they were not the gurus. Nothing wrong with Wesfarmers but they didn’t treble.

A while ago we mentioned Euroz which is EZL.This stockbroker buys its own shares to pay staff bonuses. Their shares were $1.00 and we had thought a 30% jump was likely. Turned out to be more.
We called a fund manager today and he shares our view that Finbar which is FRI will have a very good run over the next couple of years as they get to have a hotter market for the home units that they build/sell. The Perth real estate market is going crazy with rents rising and low interest rates.
To make some British pounds our Trident Royalties TRR on the AIM market in London has doubled.in a bit over 6 months. Too bad London is in lockdown so we cannot go there.

AfterPay looks like it’s catapulring along on a wing and a prayer

$40,000 invested in March at $8.90 at the low would yield 4.6 million on today’s price of $116.... a market value larger than Coles......

prayer.

im reminded of that Silicon Valley series.... doesn’t matter what we produce or sell as a consumer product or service. Our product is the stock price....

We missed a chunky sized parcel of Veem @ 48 cents and it is probably that parcel that started being sold off in the past couple of days.
We are about a kilometre from their business when we are at our work office so we really should visit them. Their code is VEE.

We were buying Finbar and they jumped over our price orders yesterday. We probably have enough and we spoke to a fund who have 20 million FRI. We doubt that they will sell.

We were surprised that EXR the Richard Cottee Mongolian gas explorer hit 19 a couple of days ago. We haven’t sold despite the country risk which is substantial. They are Elixir.

And $10,000 of Fortescue 20 years ago would now be over $30 million Inc dividends.
If you did want to take a punt you could look at LPD. $0.005 earlier this year now $0.018 and if they hit pay dirt....

Yes and Ethereum and Litecoin. Made a bit out of all of them but feel like cryptos are a distraction for me and my investment strategy.

I do note that BTC has doubled since early December though!
Yeah I used to mine coins back in 2014-2016.
Had a few rigs setup at home and at work.
