Just returned from Bali on the A321 NEO to Sydney . It is the worst aircraft I have ever travelled on . I have flown Jetstar over 40 times to Bali on previous plane models . The NEO is terrible. The seats hardly recline, are so uncomfortable due to no padding, legroom is non existent and the service is terrible . I know you get what you pay for , though Virgin , Qantas or Garuda will be getting our business in future . One positive is we departed and arrived home on time .

Well, spend a little more and be happy in 29 A or 29f 🌴

But is 29b or C just rubbish if travelling as a couple? I assume we both can't have 29A for the leg room. Is legroom poor in 29b and c? . I've been reading reviews on flying Jetstar. Gosh it sounds grim ...but ex PER it's either Batik or Citilink or Air Asia or Jetstar. Also why the hell is booking the same JQ aircraft via QF website horrendously more expensive than through the JQ website? In fact the JQ bundle (seats and food plus 20kg) is less than even the basic fare booked through QF. Jeez ...is that even legal? Seriously!!

I flew a BA A321 yesterday. Whilst not a NEO nor JQ, the extra extra extra legroom seats are situated in a row of normal legroom (so yes, someone would dip out). We were in the pair of extra extra legroom seats in front and I couldn’t touch the seat in front without standing up. However, the built in tray table makes the seats narrower (more than I recall on a QF or VA A330 bulkhead seat.

Yeah thanks for that. Been on the BA 321 NEO a few times myself. I actually take row 16 (exit seats) if sitting Y on BA 321 Neo. I find the seat not so bad and not to far back. . Never ventured on Jetstar and just thinking about it although it seems that the seat generally is worse than BA? Yes perhaps if available, Row 1 is where to go.

Seat (padding and headrests) and pitch matters.

BA has 37 rows. 15/11/11 to the exits with Row 26 missing AF.

JQ has 39 rows. 17/11/11 to the exits with Row 28 missing AF, though both 18 and 19 are mid-wing exit rows.

Haven't specifically flown the BA321NEO, but JQs slimline seats on the 321N are hard. That, plus little legroom and no headrests - its just difficult to get comfy for a 6 hour flight (I mention in the review it'd be fine for a domestic hop).
