AFF Wine Lover Meet Ups - Brisbane (Master Thread)

Sadly, I'm out for this first gathering.

Just a suggestion. If you are 6-10, then maybe 2/3 of you volunteer to bring the wine this time. If you all bring one, then you are going to have a good night. But a very bad next day!

I always thought the better quality the wine, the less hangover I have (so long as I drink water throughout) - well that's my experience anyway, YEMV.

The 25th is a little over 2 weeks away.
whoever suggested the Greek Taverna , in discussion with QF WP today, we are in agreement that is a good venue. we also agree that as a first hit out and as it is a lunch , we keep the number of wines down to a minimum.
I for one will see what Gems I have lurking in my Vintec cellar
Whoever suggested the Greek place, maybe they can start collecting names and make a booking?

It's an excellent venue with great food at very reasonable prices. I used to live around the corner and we regularly dined there. A booking is the best bet. I'm on their booking system and will be happy to make the arrangements. It is accessible by public transport. The 199 stop right out the front and glider (60) stops on Mollison st.

Yes, Viridianne did express a desire to come to this - probably because she had so much fun at the GC one on the weekend.

No pictures, it didn't happen.

I'll be at Brisbane for a conference, hence putting in the dates of 25 & 26, which seem to have worked out well as we are finally facilitating the first AFF wine lovers Brisbane chapter!
If it's a lunch time do, it seems I must miss a couple of speakers at the conference. (Ideally it's an early-ish lunch, as the first intermission ends at 3pm)
