Hmm thought I had posted yesterday but clearly the app was rubbish as usual.

Lovely to to meet new people and see familiar ones. Thank you puppysparkes for making the booking, and everyone for bringing wine (im sorry I didn't bring one, I figured 3-4 was enough for our numbers!) Lest to say I didn't make it to the rest of the conference yesterday but I'm making up for it today  Drop by the Sydney thread if ever in Sydney.

Caravanseri and Deer Duck Bistro look pretty good to me.

Or you were suffering from wobbly finger syndrome? :-)

Deer Duck Bistro is very nice but quite fancy.
May not be suitable for group of cheap drunks :p

Caravanserai looks like good option.

Also, t'was nice to have an AFF'er (Stark) drop in on his way back to his office, but he couldn't stay for lunch. Also an honourable mention to Mrs samh004 (what is her handle again?)

Chicka ? ( spelling ?)

Looks like the troops had a good time if planning a rinse and repeat! From the list The Major posted I've been to/organized functions and BYO at The Wolfe (East Brisbane), Nantucket (Indooroopilly) and Deer Duck Bistro (Auchenflower). All good restaurants. I'd favour The Wolfe.

Other venues worth consideration are Vine Restaurant - Home in New Farm. I know the owners and have had many good BYO lunches there. Others to consider that have let us BYO to are sproutbyofrenchcafe in Auchenflower, Rhubarb Rhubarb | Restaurant Wooloowin in Wooloowin and Moda Restaurant – Best Restaurant in Brisbane City in Edward St near the Gardens which allow BYO on a Tuesday evening.

Otherwise The Valley has a myriad of BYO options but often Asian food isn't the best accompaniment to good wine.

The Wolfe will not fail to deliver. Folks I can't recommend this place highly enough. The service and food is on point. Weather permitting, I suggest a table out the back.

Looks like we have a venue.
Now to find a date that suits most people.
