AFF's 20,000th post? Prize up for grabs

If you go by the count on the front page, what happens if after reaching 20,000 posts someone deletes some posts to bring that number back under 20,000?
We can argue about this until the sheep come home.

Number of posts is number of posts on front page of AFF.

Either way is open to manipulation. Someone can post and delete over and over and over to increase the so called "posting sequence number". Can't detect it unless you are logged on at the same time and you post something after the post then said person cannot delete that post but can still edit it. Similarly if someone posts and it happens to be the 20,000th post as per front page of AFF then this post is the winner if detected by organiser of thread. If post is not detected and is deleted then this post reverts back to post #19,999 and the next post will be the 20,000th post.

We will just have to trust that someone is around roughly at the time of the 20,000th post to determine the winner. Suspect it will be sometime tomorrow or early Monday.

It really is not a big issue as we are not playing for sheep stations only bragging rights.

We're not playing for sheep stations, only SQ F pajamas and PPS diary.

All the beads are important otherwise the guess might be out by weeks.

You have beads left over???

So the random number generation is subject to missing beads?

So which numbers are missing??

Only the important ones. :(

I always use a binary abacus. Much more fun and less confusing with only one bead per section.

You're not planning on introducing binary time as well are you?

Getting real close now.

I would appreciate if someone can keep an eye on the 20,000th post whether it be tonight or tomorrow morning as I will be off playing golf.

So much easier working of post id #20000, unless its deleted you can see exactly when posted.

Should be able to get an idea of which post # it will be. Quick back of envelope calc tells me that it will be around post #20221.

That's why I said around 20221. Deleted posts will muck up an exact calculation.
