Sorry Folks,

I searched for anything on this but of course "ita" is too short for the search... and matrix.itasoftware.com is too long! Nothing in between worked either...:oops:

I have been happily searching for options on ita and then plugging them into XP with good results.... for multi segment one ways that is...

Just can't get the ita sourced RETURN itin to come up on XP however... one leg too many - and no matter which way I do it the option I'm after doesn't show (Have found a few others for future reference I must say!)

Anyone care to share the identity of a TA who will book these for a fee???

Be an interesting exercise approaching local TA's with ita printout in hand I suppose...... but a proven sourse would be great!!

I think he is trying to say he has found via Amadeus (in this case the ITA web site) a fare, and he wants to know if there is any proven way to ticket it (eg web sites that can book these things) or will he just have to try travel agents and home they can make the same fare construction.

I think ITA uses Amadeus, but same goes for fares constructed in Sabre or Galileo.

Once you have selected your fare, all you have to do is click on 'show fare rules' and that brings up all the necessary information. Print it out and take it to a travel agent.

Evan, you're obviously far more adept at reading between the lines than I am.

He confused the heck out of this TA.:mrgreen:

:oops: Sorry! I thought using ita as a "building source" was a well established thing in these fora (forums?).. (To be precise.. the problem is I'd need a booking engine that allowed 6 city pairs to get this one to show/price correctly... XP only has 5...)

And yes I know about the fare rules provided etc.... Just looking to not reinvent the wheel.. as I'm not sure what reception I'll get handing over that sort of printout and saying "There ya go!" Hence.. looking for a TA already used to being approached thusly....

Of course they might like the idea.. who knows?

I'll bite the bullet and take the printout to a carefully selected local TA.... but it'd be nice to be able to book it online - as I can with the one ways/simpler itins.......

Again.. sorry for not making myself clear!!

Judicial use of connecting cities (ie ones that often have forced connections) can turn a higher number of flights into a smaller number of required city pairs in a booking engine.

As a really basic example, SYD-PER-BME may often be found in engines when you just input SYD-BME. Use appropriate timetables for the airline/s involved, and see if there are cities like that.

Sorry Folks,

I searched for anything on this but of course "ita" is too short for the search... and matrix.itasoftware.com is too long! Nothing in between worked either...:oops:

For future searching, you could try google's advanced search: search on (eg.) ita, restricting the search to (eg.) results returned from frequentflyer.com.au ;)

Yup..... Thanks for the suggestion!!! Have some experience at that too..... in this case however (unfortunately! ) it doesn't help... four cities... say... A, B, C and D... No matter how I do it with the two city pairs available to me (to achieve an actual rtn itin using the multi-city - after using the first 3 for the correct/desired outbound)) - A-C & C-D or A-B & B-D - it doesn't return the specific A-B-C-D routing I want and can see on ITA...:(

I get A-Z-D or something equally unwanted...;)

What I will try is that trick on the outbound (not hopeful as they are mirror image) but worth a try nonetheless....

I feel quite reluctant to actually take it to a TA... dunno why.... (Maybe that feels like "calling while the deal is on" or something!!!

Thanks anyway for the input! Appreciate it.... and I will certainly try a search through google.... what a good idea!

Them? Not if you mean ITA.. "they" don't do bookings..:(

If you meant Expedia I wouldn't like to try it... While I've had succesful dealings once with their call centre (in MNL IIRC) on a rebooking (cancel one XP itin and replace with another) I have never tried to talk to them about anything that hadn't come up clearly on their website....

I wouldn't be at all confident there......

The hunt for a "tame TA" here has begun.....;)
