I recently did a scenic and cheap tour of south east Asia using Air Asia out of KUL and quite enjoyed the experience. Much more than I was expecting. New planes, polite and cheerful FAs, amazingly good food, and my experience was punctual flights.

I paid extra for the so called Hot Seats, and found most of the other pax did the same. It was still very pleasant and I'll use them again.

According to AirAsia - Baggage Supersize

You’ll only need to pay for the weight you’re carrying!

What’s great about Baggage Supersize is that things like baby prams/strollers/buggies, wheelchairs, mobility devices and walking frames can be checked-in for free. Sports equipment however, is subject to a sport equipment fee.
AirAsia - Fee schedule

I tend to travel heavy and as long as you book the correct weight you will have no problems.

If in doubt and you are on Twitter, ask what you need of Air Asia @AirAsia Very responsive and helpful staff there.
