How does Marriott treat you as an elite?

Status: Platinum Elite
Property: Westin Grande Bangkok
Booked: Guest room, 1 King, Standard Room
Received: Guest room, 1 King, Club Level
Rate: Corporate
Late checkout: Not required

Currently staying at the hotel for work, room is spacious and service at club lounge is excellent.

It is a small lounge and it can get quite busy at happy hour. Food and drink spread is good and in line with Asia lounges.
They have a great old fashioned type GM. Robert was trained across the road at the SGS under Richard Chapman a very hands on GM.
You should meet Robert as he comes to the lounge every day that he is on duty.

Met Robert on my first night at the hotel and he gave me his card, very friendly GM. Didnt see him yesterday so hopefully will bump into him tonight.

Status: Gold
Property: W Toronto
Rate: 666CAD/night, member rate prepay (5 nights)
Booked: Base room (standard)
Upgraded: Deluxe (top level, no discernible other difference?)
Late Checkout: Was asked if I needed one at checkin and granted until 2pm of final day

Really nice room and not dated like other W’s in USA, but no minibar or any drinks whatsoever besides coffee even though there’s a fully equipped mixbar with coughtail mixing set? Lighting and shades all electronic with nice mood lighting. Breakfast options very limited (a la carte), quality worse than USA and even more expensive.

Slight update - made Platinum Elite from my previous stay that only came through mid-current stay and was promptly upgraded mid-stay (for Friday and Saturday nights!) to a Studio Suite with associated benefits including $40 breakfast credit per day, 4pm late checkout etc
