Air Canada took my money but no booking ??

Thanks so much for the info, I really don't want to do a connecting flight where I'm not staying for a few days. I'll look into that Singapore one though.
Yes I'm aware of the Jetstar constant addons, I've factored in luggage and it's still a lot cheaper than Hawaiian or Qantas, it's more the reliability I'm concerned about.
Another possibility is to book one of the connecting flights as a multi city for a stopover for a couple of days. Here's a ~$1200 fare with Fiji with a couple nights stopover in Nadi:

Here's one for Singapore:

Do you have a specific budget in mind? I'm seeing some decent flights out of Vancouver on Singapore and Fiji:

Is it sub-$1000 per passenger? No! But that's normal when you're booking a one-way long haul flight (i.e. that it would cost more than the cost of a return).

As for your idea of connecting in HNL for JQ service, whilst that sounds like you could save some money there, keep in mind that JQ nickels and dimes you for everything including baggage. So unless you've got carryon be prepared to fork out considerable sums on your "cheap" JQ fare ex-HNL. Whenever planning any travel consider the entirety of the cost, the ticket price is usually but a small portion of the overall cost of travel.

Did anyone find a solution to this? Attempted to buy points last night to take advantage of the 80% bonus. Funds were taken out of the credit card and this morning I received the email "Sorry, your transaction of Aeroplan points could not be completed".

I called up the bank to see if it was flagged for fraud but they said it wasn't. Did someone find a workaround this? I have sent an email to the points support team. I am hesitant to try again in case I double up with the points.

Hi everyone. I have found the solution! For anyone who reads this thread in the future, this was how I was able to have my problem resolved:

I had used my partner's CC to purchase points on my account. Your billing details need to match with the original account for it to work. Once I changed to my own CC, after about 24hrs, the transaction went through and I was able to make my award booking. Please see the included screenshot from the points support team which got back to me within 24 hours.

I sort of have the opposite issue I think. Booking made last Saturday ie 7 days ago. I have tickets and all flights still showing as confirmed. But the taxes are still showing as pending. Am getting stressed as they should have gone through by now. It was a citi credit card. Any thoughts?

There might have been an error with the card (not your fault).

Best to give them a call and check in the payment.
