Hi,

Does anyone know if Air China in PVG will check my bags through to a connecting flight in TPE with Cathay Pacific?

Both flights were booked separately.

I scheduled a 3hr layover in TPE under the assumption that I'd have to recheck my bags - but then I remembered that Air China owns a fairly large chunk of Cathay (or perhaps it's the other way around).

The closest thing I could find was this thread on FT regarding Dragon Air, where some people suggest that interline is not reliable in China (no mention of TPE though).

Air China and Cathay Pacific have an interline e-ticket partnership in place.

In theory if travel in on the one itinerary then you should be able to check luggage through.
