AI308 was 88 minutes or so late into MEL this morning at 0928 hours, so the aircraft has lost a bit more time during its 'reversal.'

AI301, the 1045 hours should still be able to depart on time, once again showing the value of schedules that allow greater than minimum achievable turnarounds.

B788 VT-ANZ on AI302, the overnight from DEL down to SYD should arrive on Sunday 14 January at 0742 hours, 32 minutes behind time.

At odds with its previous reputation, AI continues to largely be punctual in and out of MEL and SYD.

However, single runway ops. at SYD on Saturday 12 May (due to wind) have thrown a spanner into its works, so AI301, the 1045 hours SYD - DEL took off at 1158. Arrival should be at about 2028 hours, 53 minutes down. VT-ANW is the B788.

Wednesday 6 June 2018 has AI302 from DEL to SYD (b788 VT-ANG) arriving at 0857 hours, 167 minutes late. It is unusual for AI to be this late into or out of SYD or MEL.

One might not expect it, but AI is usually punctual in and out of SYD and MEL.

Sunday 24 June 2018 is an exception with AI302 from DEL to SYD likely to arrive at 0924, 194 late with B788 VT-ANR.

On Sunday 29 July 2018, AI302, the overnight DEL down to SYD has B788 VT-ANY and should arrive at 0645, 35 late.

The 1035 hours Sunday 19 August SYD up to DEL (AI301) was affected by Sydney being down to a single runway, the east west. B788 VT-ANZ took off at 1203 with arrival suggested as 1930 tonight, 41 late.

Tuesday 27 November has AI301 (1045 hours SYD - DEL that took off at 1110, only about five minutes late) with B788 VT-NAC. Arrival should be at 1839, 49 late as the winds are adverse.

With the extremely heavy rain in Sydney on Wednesday 28 November 2018, AI302 (B788 VT-NAA) from DEL down to SYD was in a holding pattern northeast of Goulburn as at 0751 so arrival will be at least 55 late at 0805, but probably later.

AI301 has quite a good timekeeping record but on Sunday 9 December 2018, this 1045 hours scheduled flight ex SYD did not take off until 1128 hours. Arrival of B788 VT-NAC should be 35 late at 1825 hours.

On Christmas Eve 2018, AI308, the 1315 hours DEL - MEL on Sunday 23 that took off at 1453 is arriving at 0750 hours, half an hour behind with B788 VT-ANY.

It remains amazing (though not in a good sense) that there are only seven nonstop flights between Australian and India each week, yet there are more Indian visitors to Oz than there are Hong Kong residents who visit us. A key reason is that many Indians use SQ, MH and even UL flights to Oz, and there is probably little use of AI by Australians flying to Europe, south or elsewhere in Asia.
