On Friday 21 December, NZ726 (1845 hours MEL to AKL, A320 ZK-OJH took off at 2018, about 75 minutes late.

Most unusually, it has diverted to SYD via a most roundabout route, arriving at about 2255 hours. It will be hours late into AKL.

This aircraft overnighted in SYD and took off at 1114 hours as the 0955 hours SYD to AKL NZ6006. Arrival is estimated as 1559 hours, 54 late. I assume passengers are on board and that it isn't just a ferry flight.

NZ104 (B772ER ZK-OKN, the 1150 hours SYD - AKL) was still taxiing in SYD at 1323 so will be at least an hour late arriving in the NZ non-capital harbour city.

On Sunday 23 DEcember 2018, NZ722 (0850 hours MEL - AKL with A321 ZK-NNB) took off at 1027. Arrival should be at 1558, 93 late.

Sunday 30th of Dec sees NZ127 AKL-MEL (B787 ZK-NZL) with a revised arrival of 17 40, 160 behind schedule. This will affect the leg back, NZ128 MEL-AKL which was originally scheduled for 16 15.

With a storm cell passing over SYD at around 1800 hours on New Year's Eve, NZ849 (A320 ZK-OJO, the 1545 hours WLG - SYD that was airborne at 1631) went close to landing but was a little east of the airport when it again headed north, so arrival that was due at 1730 will become about 1810.

On a stormy evening in SYD, Monday 31 December 2018, NZ708 (1855 hours SYD - AKL with A321 ZK-NNC) was in the sky at 2002. Arrival should be 0059 on New Year's Day 2019, an hour behind.

NZ888, the 1915 hours SYD - CHC is closely following but not as late as it took off at 2005 hours. A320 ZK-OJK should arrive at 0055, half an hour behind the schedule.

NZ842 (ZK-OJO, the 1835 hours SYD - WLG airborne at 2012) initially headed west as far as Silverdale (near Warragamba Dam) before heading south and then east, presumably to avoid the worst of the weather. Arrival looks to be 80 late at 0110 hours.

Friday 4 January 2019 has NZ727 (1255 hours lunchtime AKL - MEL, A320 ZK-OJC) having taken off at 1421 so arrival has become a suggested 1602, 62 minutes tardy.

NZ832, the Saturday 5 January 2019 scheduled 0920 hours SYD to ZQN had not taken off by 1055 as it was still taxiing. Arrival will be more than 75 late. Aircraft is A320 ZK-OJN.

MEL was closed to inbound flights for a while around 0930 - 1000 hours on Monday 14 January 2019 due to what AFF member Ansett suggests - thank you - was the ATC tower having to be evacuated.

NZ123 looks to be diverting to SYD, even though inbound flights were able to land from about 1001 hours. This aircraft B773ER ZK-OKO had taken off from AKL at 0908 hours, on time, but will now be hours later into MEL than its timetabled 1055 hours. It looks like it will arrive SYD at about that time.

Sunday 20 January's NZ762 SYD - NLK, the 1005 hours, was airborne at 1101 with A320 ZK-OJE. Arrival is likely at 1315, half an hour late.

NZ722 (0850 hours morning MEL - AKL) was in the sky at 0942 with arrival for A321 ZK-NNA suggested as 1531, 66 late.

Friday 25 January as at 1004 in the morning sees a hot north wind gusting to 61kmh at MEL. Single runway ops are causing delays with NZ898, the 0915 hours MEL - CHC NZ898 by 1041 not even having joined one of the long queues for takeoff, so it will be at least 75 late into the major South island tourism centre.

UPDATE: NZ898 was airborne from MEL at 1117 hours.
