Love it.

I wonder if that's a real Airpoints membership number.

NZ-US: looks like it's on!

Air NZ doing what it does best - catchy/humorous marketing. If only they put this much effort into offering a good value frequent flyer program. Seriously, why would anyone want to join Airpoints??

I'd be curious to know when AJ said that, and what the context was.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Yes, very cool. And very Air New Zealand.

Shame it's grammatically incorrect ('Air New Zealand is an extremely well run airline').

Must be an NZ resident ... the card has the flybuys logo ... not for us pleb Oz risedentss...

It raises the question, why did the AA guy flying with ANZ??!!

Probably the same reason most people currently fly NZ J across the Pacific. The product isn't a market leader, the price is kind of high and there is NO award availability, but they have a monopoly on direct flights from the USA to NZ at the moment. (All the more reason for AA/QF to launch flights!)

True, but it's a bit like the president of Mercedes buying a BMW. I'd have expected he would fly to SYD with QF, and then QF back across the ditch.

That would waste about 8 hours of travel, 3 hours each way and 2 hours connection (I am assuming he didn't then come to aus) his time is probably considered more valuable. Also its always good to check out the competition and see what you are competing against

Sidenote: If you are AirNZ management and you recognise he is travelling with you, do you A) Have your staff fuss over him as a VIP and set the expectations high, or B) lose his luggage and make it overall a horrible experience to lull him into a false sense of security..? ;)

they should have given him bronze status, giving him elite is disparaging to the fliers putting in the flights to get that status ... :D

Not surprised the AA CEO flew Air NZ... Ever compared QF A380 J to Air NZ J? QF comes out far last (in my opinion at least)

Very funny marketing, although must admit they've been spamming social media with it so I've gotten rather annoyed with it.

Not really ... AirNZ dumbed down their "Business Premium" to Qantas level a couple of years ago. ... before that (for the first year ag5ter the intoduction of the 77W's) they had the best J soft product out there.

Only real difference these days are the seats; for mine a skybed is better than the herringbone - I have flown more transpac in buiness on Air NZ than Qantas in recent years.

If you want to be properly fed and watered these days, fly VA.
