QF will be doing AKL-JFK with a B787 just like NZ won't they?QF aircraft type is not the same as Air NZ.
QF has experience with ultra long haul over the pacific. At times they have stopped in Fiji for a fuel top up.

Hasn't that always been the allowance for AirNZ to the USA from NZ? Or do you mean it's no longer possible to purchase extra bags?Air NZ will only be giving a checked baggage allowance of 1x 23kg bag to Economy passengers on AKL-JFK
