Interesting as Row 1 on the 737-700 was great.

Also, found the food not too bad so not sure why Ansett had such a problem.

They seem to be describing the standard J food, which I found rather nice, though on one occasion it had been left too long and was a bit rubbery. I guess if you don't like Fijian food then perhaps Fiji isn't your ideal destination, but as for the wine, can't recall what was served. Pretty sure it wasn't Gossips, so something is amiss if it was.

To Be Clear the aircraft I am refering to is the newest one that is Ex Air Berlin I agree the 737-700 and indeed the other 737-800 that has been inservice for a little while now are both good as I have flown both of these and had no problem them. The difference however between the aircraft stands out.

As for the meals and Fijian food I have always found the food to be an acceptable level and I do indeed enjoy Fijian Food and also travel regulalrly to Fiji. The gripe with this flight was the poor seating in comparison to what one would expect of FJ and QF and I will avoid this aircraft where I can and recomend others do the same and again the food was terrible neither myself or my girlfriend were able to eat any of the food provided and after nearly 3000 flights I assure you I am used to aircraft food.

The wine as I say was definitely Gossip both the red and white options and I am sure you would all agree this is sub standard even for FJ.

Air Pacifc has three 738s in its fleet BTW.

Markis this is very true and indeed I saw the other one on Sunday night in the hangar at Nadi :) One other thing with this new aircraft a lot of FJ staff have expressed disapointment in the condition and reliability of the aircraft since receiving it with many things broken not working and technical problems. As an example Flight FJ413 on Wednesday of last week was delayed due to having to utilise it for an additional run syd-nad due to issue with the scheduled aircraft. It was further delayed after arriving in Auckland due to yet another mechanical failure requiring immediate replacement. Not good for an aircraft that is only 1.7 months old ;)

Call me dumb if you will, but how the hell are you supposed to avoid a particular 737 when booking? You have a 33% chance of getting this one right? It's not route specific is it? To me if you book a 738 then you will get one of the 3 738s they operate.
And is not 1.7 mths old, it's second hand and that's how long they have had it

Based on conversation with crew this particular aircraft is scheduled to serve the Syd - Nad Route and the Auckland - Nadi route. But hey dont take my word for it try it for your selves !!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I stand corrected should have typed 1.7 Years old :)

I should think so ;)
Still not that old to be a wreck though us it

Yes. If you know - please tell me!

A picture says a thousand words. Can someone snap the inflight food, wine and the footrest part and the 'experts' will judge!

Is there an update on how the 737-800 is going these days? I've just noticed that my NAN-MEL QF396 has had the 737-800 (with winglets) substituted in, along with a time change from 20:45 to 18:40. I have 1E and 1F and am wondering how 5 1/2 hours is going to feel on this instead of the 767, especially in light of the reviews from a few months ago...

Any inflight snaps as per Spruce's suggestion above?
