Hello all, I am booked to on Air Pacific from Nadi – Syd on 25th April 2010, departure time 9.00am.

Air Pac keeps telling me that the aircraft which will be utilised on that day will be a 747-400, however their website indicates otherwise, 767-300ER. Now from memory, I believe that Air Pac has only (one) Boeing 767-300 in their fleet, and hence I am confused even more as on the same day, the Boeing 767-300 is being utilised for Nadi – Brisbane, departing at 8.15am. Both QF and Air Pacific’s website indicate the same aircraft flying to different cities in OZ.

What does the seat map on check my trip show, your flight looks very full so maybe FJ are hedging their bets for what flight gets the 767?

according to EF its a 763 with 3 rows of 2x2x2 seating in business class and 2x3x2 seating in economy cabin. Seems they operate a mixture of 744 and 763 depending on the day of the week.

NAN-BNE is showing the same aircraft type on that day. I wonder if they may be planning to combine the flights on that day? Though both are showing as non-stop at this time.

Hi Markis, Checkmytrip indicates 767-300.

Does the seatmap look like a FJ config, its also possible FJ may wetlease a 767 from QF to cover a 747 down for a D check which would account for the 767 being in two places at once.

Seat maps for SYD and BNE flights (according to EF) are both looking like FJ 763 (3 rows or 2x2x2 in J and Y starting at row 5 with 2x3x2 through the cabin).

Sounds like FJ are hedging their bets, the Sydney flight does seem to be pretty full given the fares available.

Air Pacific's response:-
Thank you for your request.

in regards to your query the Equipment used will be a 744 so its a BOEING 747-400.
Kind regards
Maria Afu
